Journe CB: finally received the tantalum deployant clasp

A CB is a hard watch to get, but it could be that the tantalum deployant clasp is even harder to get than the watch…

The wait was worth it. I find the deployant a lot more comfortable to put on and wear than the buckle, and I really value the much lower risk of dropping the watch. And compared to what PP charges for a WG deployant, the price for the tantalum one from Journe seems very reasonable (CHF1900).

Congrats!
Can you post some wrist shots of the deployant?

Is it full Tantalum? Or mixed metals depending on the component?

I believe the clasp is tantalum and the rest is white gold.

Congrats. Looks very nice. Were you able to simply attach it to the existing strap or did you have to get a new one?

I asked the salon and they do not sell separate straps for deployants like PP. So it is meant for the standard strap of the CB. And it works great.

This is surprising because I ordered a special strap for deployant from the boutique in Paris last year, I did not like that the clasp was not centered with the regular strap that was on the watch when I bought it used. It is perfect with the special one. one side is 12.5cm and the other is 5.5cm, so much shorter than the regular one. The choice in colour was limited to blue or black.

You can see how much shorter is the 6 side of the deployant strap.

Congratulations! I have the tantalum deployant as well and it was well worth the (year or so) wait. With respect to the poster who asked whether it fits on existing straps, it works quite well on my existing Journe straps and is very, very low profile in contrast to a lot of other deployants out there. The only thing to note is that it's a single fold deployant, which is great for thinness, but it hikes up the inner side of your wrist a bit (as opposed to double fold deployants which are centered on the bottom of your wrist). May take a little getting used to but it's very comfortable for me overall. I haven't used the tang at all since I received the deployant last year.

Thanks. Stunning that the Geneva boutique tells clients something different. My deployant indeed does not sit in the middle, but it sits comfortably on my wrist…

Sharing mine again - we ordered a short fpj strap for it which is too small to wear on a tang but fine for the deployant. I don’t think it’s a “special” strap for the deployant, just the shorter one.

Thank u! It’s definitely expensive but it’s nice to say u got something fpj at retail more sensibly the security is nice, very easy to drop a watch on a soft nubuck strap and especially as nowadays more people will want to try it if they see it so gives a peace of mind to share it around

NYC made me pay the full amount in advance and took ~6 months to deliver. Maybe they are made in batches?
