If qualified what watch do you dive with (If any) apart from a Dive Computer which is not what this poll is about.

PADI divemaster. I've worn my sub diving but don't use it for much. Set the bezel if I remember. Usually wear it under a wetsuit sleeve to protect it. Never used it with a drysuit. From the very beginning I used a computer and as backup used a dive timer and analog depth gauge. (Time is kind of meaningless unless you know how deep you were)

I'm just letting you know you're mining data useless to your viewpoint. I don't need a poll to tell me people aren't primarily using their watches as dive tools. Let alone Rolexes specifically.

As I said and a certified dive instructor confirmed, there are better tools for the job, and your watch is useless without a depth gauge and a proper understanding of the depth charts, which most people don't have due to the fact that they've become reliant on upgraded tech. Most people seemed to wing that portion in the classroom.

I do dive with A Suunto D6i Computer.
I also use the transmitter.
I obviously also have a pressure gauge
A Compass
A depth gauge
I do know exactly how to plan a dive using the charts.

I also have a Rolex Submariner strapped on. Its usually on my wrist with some neoprene from my semi-dry suit covering it - The suits arms are easily long enough for that.. It is there for emergency use only.

When diving with my friends, we are all similarly equipped but not all use a Rolex .. There are other brands we all know. My normal divebuddy uses a Blancpain 50 Fathoms. A great watch i must say.

I do not expect students to wear a Rolex etc. 99% of them just have the kit on loan from the dive centre and no backup watch at all. They all have to wear a dive computer so they get into the habit and start to learn what they are for and how to use them. They are very basic Suunto ones.

All on rubber, nothing to flash while spearfishing (the real type, not the Internet type)

Avid scuba diver since I was 14 years old.

As a young man I did some tech diving training with the great Billy Deans in Key West, the highlight of my dive training

Now days I’m just a simple Nitrox diver. One of my great pleasures in life are overseas dive trips. As long as the water is warm I’m game!

Modern dive computers provide all the data you need underwater but I still like to wear a watch for “above water purposes “

My watch of choice is Seiko’s Orange Monster, It’s easy to read, mechanical and costs less $500. If it’s damaged, scratched, or stolen it’s no big deal. Quick Amazon order to replace.

Yes I understand the “Rolex tool watch” concept. Of course a $15K Submariner would handle a lifetime of sport diving without a hiccup. But for me and my financial reality $15K or even $8K is not a tool, but jewelry watch.

Besides I for one would not be comfortable walking down the dark streets of Manila wearing a Rolex!! (No offense to my many Filipino friends)

OWL here. Depends on the dive. Most of the deeper dives I use a computer, otherwise I have an AP that is fine enough for ~50ft and more recreational dives

Didn’t realize this was a poll, didn’t vote, not displayed as a poll on Tapatalk.

That being said, I’m old school. I hate most modern technological advancements beyond my iPhone.

I still drive fairly analog vehicles. I don’t have a refrigerator or washer and dryer that connects to the internet. I hate the DEF systems imposed on diesel motors after 08, so if I’m buying equipment I’d rather buy used. Sometimes the old way is not wrong and just as good at accomplishing the same task as the new fancy thing. Every diver should have a watch (doesn’t matter the brand as long as it’s reliable), tables, compass, safety sausage and a whistle in case all hell breaks loose. I have dive computers and do use them on technical dives, I also will just throw tank,BC, fins and weight on and do a quick dive <60’ with only my watch and my spare tiny compass on the bc. I rarely use my computer on dives less than 60’. I am old school though and how I do things is not how most do these days.
