Does wearing a "swiss only" watch in the sun slowly wear out the lume?

Not like I am going to change my habits. I bought some used hands off a swiss-only watch and its not as bright as my swiss-only dial. Trying to figure out the reason. Thanks.

Need photos, but lume ages differently over the decades. They could have different lume compounds, exposed to different moisture over years, plenty of reasons

Both are luminova. I'll get pics tomorrow.

Are you certain its Luminova thats been used ?., Luminova wasnt invented until 1993 and didnt become widely used until about 5 years later. It does have a 'lifespan' (usually about 25-30 years). Pics would certainly help

Yeah, we really need photos and to also know what ref you're talking about.

Service dials for older 4 digit references were "Swiss" only but used super luminova as opposed to luminvoa.

Some older SWISS dials were radium, most 80s and later are luminova.

So there is a LOT of missing information to even know what generations we are talking about

I'll update tomorrow. Working with a 1991 16618 with a Swiss only dial and tritium hands. Hands are luminova off a Swiss only dial either 16618 or 16613.

okay I was wrong. The hands are identical to the dial in terms of color and intensity. Just needed a better comparison. Sorry. /post
