Wondering when Panerai will be hot again? Haven’t bought any more Pam since 671.

Ya know, and that's part of the 'fun' with Panerai. Like the extras in Mr Robot if you knew..........

Not sure I'm a fan of the alligator strap with the carbotech but to each their own.

What do you think of the dial? There are lots of blue dials out there and blue is still very popular. I'm still trying to figure out if I like this one or not. First impression was that it looked a bit like low end metal work. Perhaps it's one you have to see in the right light or in person to appreciate.

I waited the 4-5 days for this, expecting more. They are doing more count down e-commerce releases in the future. Kinda bait-y for something non-eventful. I like their creativity but it's not ground breaking IMO

Would love to hear from Richemont's CEO to have 'em better explain this recent launch, other recent activities such as outright refusal to fully disclose moment details, and future plans for Richemont's company-owned Panerai IP (intellectual property).

I am sure that pic isn’t doing it justice. Looks to be a very solid combo wr300m, 9010, carbotech, 44mm. That is top tier core Panerai specs. It’s a blue faced Pam 1661. All Carbotech models need a solid titanium back due to threading.
A black or white Caoutchouc strap and that watch would look slamming. This strap.

It is a nice high-quality dark blue leather strap, the same one came with my 01033 GMT. Looks great with the blue dial too. I must admit the carb case on the 1118 has been very durable during daily use. While the non-hacking 9010 may be bit disappointing, the accuracy has been exceptional ~+0.5 sec/day.

Just sent it back - didn’t like the look of the carb case (though the light weight is nice). Also the dial is pretty dark and “sunburst” only perceptible in direct sunlight (and subtle even then). Never had a Panerai (and suspect I never will) but the quickset hour hand and lack of quickset date would be a giant pain for occasional wear.

i own 2 Panerai's bought within the last few months. But i've decided those will be the only 2 for a while until Richemont gets their stuff together. I'm not impressed that everything is Limited Edition and the movement questions have been bugging me. Granted, I do like some of the ambassadors, but the public could care less in general who any of them are.

I hear you about movement transparency, that's why I am hesitant. I did make one exception and I am glad I did.
