Is Rolex Guarantee in UK transferable?

Hi,

I am looking to buy an August 2021 from a gray market dealer. It has the remaining 5 years warranty.

My question is, is this transferable and would I have any issues claiming on the warranty? I can't see anything on the Rolex site that tells me this.

Thanks.

Yes. Unless you're approaching the RSC in Manhattan, in which case they can get a bit petty.

Is there anywhere where Rolex states this or is it just a case of they don't and usually it's fine but some have had some problems?

From the Rolex website:

You can read it there.

The Rolex international five-year guarantee, issued by Rolex itself, will be completed and dated by your Official Rolex Retailer at the time of purchase and registered with Rolex.

The guarantee is valid only if (1) the watch has been sold by an Official Rolex Retailer; (2) the guarantee card has been completed in full by the Official Rolex Retailer at the time of purchase; and (3) the guarantee card is presented with the watch, either to an Official Rolex Retailer or to an Official Rolex Service Centre.

That's not really explicit, but I guess if read literally does also confirm to "second hand" watches.

Although it's not explicit it does confirm it.

If rolex were to be explicit about it they would be seen as "condoning" second hand sales.

The warranty goes with the watch. Rolex are not allowed to know your details (in the UK - it might be different elsewhere), and the AD can keep any information they like about you on file providing they do not share it with anyone else apart from you or someone who who has obtained a court order/search warrant to view it.
