How hard is to get the new 2021 OPs?, particularly the green or black ones.
I have read many times that is almost impossible to go to a Rolex AD and come out on the same day with the watch you wanted. Always there is a waiting list and if you are not a frequent buyer, forget it, you will not be on “real” waiting list.
And I want to buy a Rolex for my 47 birthday in November, maybe my only one Rolex ever. I have an Omega Aquaterra James Bond, a Montblanc calibre (much more expensive than the Omega), 2 Longiness, a Nomos and a few others. Now I want a green Rolex OP, 41mm. I am not a collector, just and enthusiast, so no “theme”, nor brand “loyalty”, I just buy decently well constructed/finished watches that I like and fit me and my style (never a “mall” brand). Before going to try, I want to be psychologically prepared: How hard is to get it?, any tips?, should I visit a boutique or a multi brand watch shop?. Is the price the same?. Is there a way to get a discount maybe? (Will it hurt to even ask the AD?). Should I go to the AD with my Omega? Or just my Apple Watch?. Are these new OP in high demand?. (I know all Rolex are in high demand, but you get my point). I am a nice, normal, computer engineer office employed guy, and it will show, I mean, the Ad will not mistake me for new rich or a guy who will buy a new Rolex from him every 8 months, even if I could, I have a few other watches and brands in my bucket list after this one. Can’t post my heart’s desire because I have only 7 posts… Thanks for your comments :) Roberto, based in Mexico, by the way. |
