Official WG Meteorite DD40 thread.

Hi, just thought this watch deserves a thread for itself. Let’s post pictures here, help prospective buyers out with their queries, keep ourselves updated on the market price and other matters. Let’s start!

Please don't promote that watch, I've been waiting all year.

I’ve think I’ve reached my limit number of photos I’ve shared on this forum of mine

Truly the most beautiful watch in the Rolex catalogue for me it’s my personal favourite.

Wouldn’t mind the platinum one although would have to go diamond baguette bezel as I’m not keen on the smooth dial on the platinum day dates.

I just paid 20% over retail! But to be fair Indian retail prices are lower than the rest of the world when you convert currencies! Worth every bit of the premium. It doesn’t matter anyways as Rolex will inevitably hike prices by 10% in the short future ( at least within 1-2 years is my guess, could be wrong who knows). As per availability, it’s really scarce. I saw a post on Instagram where the seller claim it was the only one in the entire uk, will try to post the link here. And on chrono24, there are just 5-6 with real photos.

I urge other owners of this beauty to post their pictures here! Please kickstart this thread with some cool photos!

I keep telling myself I should limit my time on TRF because of threads like this....
I just got a DD and if I ever buy a second one - it will most likely be this one.
Back in April my AD let me try the platinum version with the same dial.
Meteorite dial and diamond baguettes is really next level...and the combo with the fluted bezel is just perfect.

Congrats OP and thanks for posting the photos.

I saw that.

I ordered the watch 14 months ago.

And I was wondering if I'd ever get it.

with some time to kill in LA Friday, I stopped by the diamond district and put my hands on one for $95k. I fell in love. and even more panic. Will I ever get it!!!??? Prices went up $30k over the past year.

So I called my AD to ask if I should recalibrate my expectations.

She said, "I was picking up my phone to call you. It's here!" But she was on vacation (the store called her to tell her it arrived) so we'll talk tomorrow to set up a pickup.

I'm over the moon with this one.

Stay tuned for my incoming story about this. It's deeply sentimental.

That’s so awesome! One of my grails for sure, but it’ll likely be discontinued by the time I save up enough / have the history to get one from my AD. Such a cool piece and really special! Post pics as soon as you can.

2-3 years back these were popping into the ADs in Tokyo more frequently than the SS professional models. I had the pleasure of trying them on (despite them being way out of my budget back then and now!).

I have to say I do prefer the Platinum with smooth bezel over the WG.

Ironically, the smooth Platinum is even more under the radar than WG.

I still prefer the fluted, but i hear you.

The smooth is also very nice. It puts more focus on the dial.

If I'm estimating and converting correctly, MSRP prices are up 20%. Assuming local market price parity.

When was this?
