14060 unique bezel insert: rare? fake? service?
Recently purchased a 14060 A serial (1st image) and I'm very curious about the bezel insert in particular. It's one that I'm struggling to find many examples of online.
The most noticeable distinguishing features are the 15 minute lines, which appear to be longer than the lines on most inserts. They seem to take up >50% of the space on the insert, whereas every other design I'm seeing has lines that take up <50% of the space. The 4 is also somewhat of a flat-ish four, but without a long leg attached at the bottom. Sort of a "hybrid 4" if you will. The only other one that I've seen with this insert is what appears to be a 14060M (2nd image). I guess that's a slightly encouraging sign? This bezel also seems to be slightly similar to one that I've noticed on some 1655 models (3rd image). The 4th image shows a more normal insert with the shorter lines and a flat 4 with the long leg. Does anyone know about this bezel insert and whether it's legit? Could it be a service bezel? Is it a fake? Any help would be appreciated. |
