Mine is a Black dial too.....but it's old.....I still love it though....been with me just over 20 years.....had a new dial and hands a few years ago (cycling accident, nasty story)....I cannot ever sing the praises of the DJ loud enough....really

Ok, shoot me now! Even though I think it looks beautiful and I might just buy one soon, it just doesn't have the magic as the sports watches.

Thanks Mark....it was the second one I bought and probably the one I've worn the most over the years......my eldest son has his claim in for it (and has had for a lot of years)...I let him wear it every once in a while if we are out for dinner or on holiday......it's a amazing to see him looking at it with this stupid big grin on his face....when he eventually gets it (maybe his 21st, he's 17 right now) I know to say 'he will appreciate it' would be an understatement.....that's what it's all about for me....I didn't only buy them for me......I only have custody right now.....

To be honest Allan, I felt the same about the sprts watches as you do about the DJ (maybe DD as well) for years......I thought they were ok, that maybe one day I would get round to buying one......I got my GMT II C around three months ago and wished I had bought a sports model years ago.....what had I been missing all this time....maybe, just maybe.....it'll be the same for you if you pick up a DJ.....they may not have quite the same impact as a sports model, mainly due to size and lack of a contrasting bezel......however they are very reliable, extremely robust and no less an icon in some folk's eyes......I love both of mine passionately....their histories are all with me but they have a lot of it......I wouldn't get rid of them for all the world

We may soon find out. I am trying to decide if I want to buy another Rolex. I may buy one soon and who knows, maybe I will become a convert!!

You may well indeed......even if you don't become a convert maybe you will reach some common ground.....it takes some time to get used to the feel of a different kind of watch.....having said that it only took me around a week to get used to the feel of a sports watch.....I love the feeling.....but when I take it off and slip either a DJ or my old DD on they feel just great as well....like a really comfortable pair of shoes you've had for years....I honestly love both "looks" and "feels" now
