Rolex 126610ln dent

Three weeks old sub where I yesterday got a dent - don’t know how… I waited 1 years at AD to get it:)

I am a perfectionist. Possible to polish only the dent - very shiny! Or will it be the whole lug? And will I then see differences in polish between lugs

Congrats on the watch. If you polish it you will still get another scratch the next time you wear it. Unless you want to keep it in a safe there us no point in polishing that mark because this will happen again.

Hardly noticeable (at least in pictures). I would just leave it alone. You will get more scratches and dents on it over the years.

Btw, just noticed you’re from Denmark. Had a chance fo visit Copenhagen and loved it. Hoping to go back next year.

Minimal in my books.

The bracelet wear could be a whole lot worse with time.

If you are talking about the pinprick on the upper right lug…

You are going to have a very unsatisfactory experience owning that watch.
I’m a perfectionist too, and you will HAVE to get used to it getting nicks and scratches.

If you're talking about the little nick on the lug on the right side of the picture, I'd leave it alone. If you wear the watch, I guarantee you will get more of them as time goes on. After a while you won't notice them.

What dent I see no dent you should have seen my tool watch 16600 after 5 long years underwater scratched dinged to hell. But easily rectified at normal routine service only to get scratched again with wearing. The sure way to ruin any Rolex is wanting to polish every time you see the slightest tiny mark. You have great watch wear and enjoy it and every mark in wearing, which are easily rectified at normal routine service.

I’ve smashed my Explorer into door handles so many times now I’ve stopped checking it.

So far only 2 tiny dents if look closely. But way more memories made with it. I will take every dent along the way cos they are sign of living life with your Rolex on your wrist

As a watchmaker, I've welded quite a few dents on rolexes. What you're showing here is no dent.

Do Rolex offer laser welding as part of a service? I didn’t think they did?

Not widespread, no. But a handful of RSC's throughout the world do.

Sorry I don’t see it. If it really bothers you, I’d have it polished at regular service

If you cannot deal with normal wear, you may want to look for a different hobby.
Perfectionism and watches do not mix well.
(Not being mean there, just stating fact.)

Watches that get used will always get wear. Dings, scratches, scrapes, etc. That is life.
You should learn to enjoy the watch and wear the heck out of it. That is the reason you bought it, right?
You should own the watch, not the other way around.

+1

I honestly had to look really hard to see the "dent"... just enjoy your Rolex OP, they're meant to be tough and robust and go accompany you through a life time.

That’s not a dent. That is a micro pockmark. It’s impossible to not acquire these if you wear your watch. I am concerned if that bothers, you are in for a lot of frustration down the road with normal wear and tear.

Nobody is more OCD/anal about their Rolex than me, and even I would be able to tolerate that one. It’s an inevitable mark for a watch that you intend to wear. You cannot expect to both wear a watch and keep it perfect. You must choose one or the other.

Actually I think this is why the watch protection film industry is booming nowadays.

Just leave it alone, almost unnoticeable.

All watches will have some dents or scratches somewhere soon or later.
