My Sales Associate Moved On

I am depressed - my favorite SA - who I purchased three watches from over the past 24 months, has moved on. I dropped her an email this afternoon and received an automatic response that she no longer works there. I left a text on her mobile and have not heard back. I would like to get her input before I reach out to one of the other SA's but I want to make sure my history is taken into account when I ask for my next time piece. Any suggestions?

Play dumb, call the store and ask for her, see if they say what she went and then see what happens.

This or go in and speak with the manager so he is aware. Best of luck.

This happened to me over at AP. Had a good rapport with the SA there and I am pretty sure I would have been allocated a 15202 then she left :-( New guy I got is nice but who knows if he'll pull through or not. In hindsight, I should have talked to the manager first.

Why? His purchase record is with the store not that SA. To the OP, Ad will assign you a new SA (basically the first watch person you talk to) and they will treat you nicely same as past 24 months.

My general experience is your records stay with the store, not the SA. I personally had no challenges when my SA moved on and the next one who took over the relationship knew exactly where I stood in terms of my next desired piece.

Maybe drop by in person and speak with the manager, explaining the situation and that you’d like to remain loyal to the store and would appreciate advice on how not to be disadvantaged going forward.

Maybe she was weirded out by all the middle aged men begging to buy watches and no matter how many watches she gets them, they won’t stop bugging her, even though all of the watches look virtually the same.

Post of the day.

These situations are why I usually chuckle when I read those other posts about "building a relationship with my AD" and buying gifts for the SA, etc.

Retail is a very transitional industry.

Yup. This. Leave this poor person alone. They moved on, you don't need to track them down for a recommendation to get more watches. Insanity

This is the only advice you should follow. She was a retail, hourly worker. You have no idea what happened/why she left. Last thing she wants is random grown men calling her (on her personal phone I might add) expressing their sorrow that she can no longer get them watches. Ridiculous.

I have known my AD since 1997 and have followed him through four dealers since then, two of those are long gone. I personally believe SA’s have way more authority than folks around here give them credit for.
To the OP, I hope your SA at least returns your message to tell you where or what she is pursuing. I would also talk to your current AD’s manager to let them now you still want to be their client. Between the two possibilities I am sure you will get to keep your relationship going.

Sad to know that. At least you had received an automatic response. My SA left without any notice and I kept emailing during lockdown as I knew they would still reply emails. After 6 months I finally called the CS and confirmed she left 6 months ago. Wasting time to build so called relationship.

Yea this is what I’ve always done - albeit to not much avail.
