Slightly delayed in posting this but October was my birthday month and the guys at the Rolex Boutique and Omega Boutique treated me with a surprise!

Earlier this year I posted about my Blue Skydweller but just as an FYI for those in Japan, its only the "sport" range that counts towards your quota so since the SkyD is not a sport watch, I was also able to get a SS Sport Rolex as well. (Last year was a daytona). I requested a Starbucks for this years "purchase restriction" way back in July when my restriction period ended but very happy with it.

Honestly didn't imagine myself liking the starbucks so much just love the green bezel, very unusual for me. The glidelock is just the best system out there!

The Snoopy was something I requested around May so very happy it came so fast and what a fun watch it is in real life. I took it to a local Snoopy Cafe haha

Currently on the bracelet now.

May I ask about the sports watch restriction? Do you mean one per year per person? But only applying to GMT, diver, chronos (I guess all YMs too)? Is that correct? Or is it more like, you can’t ask for your next piece until a year has passed? So it ends up being 18 months or something (depending on VIP status, etc., of course) instead of a 12 month period? Thanks and congratulations again, nice way to ring in a birthday!!

Sure thing. So let me preface this by saying this is NOT an official Rolex policy but a policy implemented by the AD network in Japan, more specifically a distribution restriction. So it applies in the entire Country for all ADs but it did not come from Rolex Switzerland.

The restriction simply applies to ANY SS Sport Range watch. Eg sub, daytona, gmt etc. You can only purchase 1 per year though of course this doesn’t mean you are allocated one either. It just means if you happen to buy a sport rolex in SS, you can’t buy anymore until that 1 year period is over. There is also another limitation in that you cannot purchase the SAME model in a 5 year period. A highly unlikely situation anyway but yeah there’s that. When you purchase the Rolex they take a copy of your ID and proof of address and you must sign a waiver.
