Warranty Card without date! Problem or not?
I wanted to get your valuable opinions to buy a daytona for a while and now I am about to complete the negotation stage with the seller. However, the date of purchase is not written on the warranty card of the watch I want to buy, and only the name of the place where it was bought is written. The seller is also the second owner of the watch, so his information is limited. I wondered if the card could be fake or not. Do you think this is normal or is it a concern that the date has not been added? As you know that there is also text on the back of the card stating that being undated will void the warranty. I told this to the seller but he said I could misinterpret that text. What would you do?

If the watch is older than when the warranty would expire then the card is worthless.
But it clearly says not valid if not correctly filled. |

How will you ever know what year the watch was?
I don't recall the warranty cards looking like that though? I might be wrong Sent from my SM-F926B using Tapatalk |

Too much money to pay for a watch that has incomplete paperwork. I would pass without hesitation and find another example.
The warranty will be invalid and you’ll have to pay for any servicing. |

If the card isn't dated then the warranty is none existent. However my thoughts are that if someone was trying to pull a fast one then they would have just added a random date in line with the age of the watch.
If the watch is good and you don't care about the warranty then I wouldn't worry about it as long as the price reflects it. Trick will be guaranteeing the watch is good, which no warranty card is going to do for you anyway. Sent from my SM-G991B using Tapatalk |

I'm going to show the watch to the authorized rolex dealer before I buy it but an undated warranty card seems a bit odd to me. I googled all day and saw that many counterfeit cards were ordered with the same serial number of the watch and even those cards have authorized dealer names but they are all undated. Tomorrow, on the first business day of the week, I will see both the watch and warranty card in person and show it to the authorized dealer. I will be posting the latest developments here. Thank you very much everyone.

How did the watch leave the AD to the current owner without the warranty card being activated?

Happens many times. I bought several with completely blanc cards. No name no date.
Rolex warranty is highly overrated . In the off chance that Rolex denies free repair and you need it the worst what can happen is a full service requirement. Besides warranty will be only honored on Rolex discretion. The shop you buy it from will also have to provide warranty as per consumer law. Anyway, Rolex service is dirt cheap and the costs of a service compared to the purchase price is meaningless. Fill in your own birthday and be happy with it

I would rather avoid buying watch with no date on the warranty card.
Rolex authorized dealer cannot guarantee you about the authenticity of the watch unless they send it to RSC. If RSC do the service for that watch, it means authentic.

if you do a paid service at the RSC, they will offer you a new certificate with 2 years of warranty.

If they have a Rolex trained watchmaker they can. I would not trust the opinion of any SA.

I would feel that any transaction like this which makes the buyer uneasy or requires you to validate its authenticity is a pass.

I once received a warranty card with the wrong date. AD dates it as of 2010 when it should have been 2016. When I took the watch to RSC they knew the official purchase date. Ditto for calling the AD. They were able to tell me exactly when the watch was purchased.

I've come across many pieces with blank cards. The few times i've had to send a piece for service with RSC with a blank card, i've never had any issues here. Working with the Beverly Hills service center specifically.

If you’re buying at market price, no reason to buy one like this. It will likely never be an issue, but why bother. If it’s significantly below market price, it might be worth it.

Asking 28.5k for it and seller claims the watch from 2019.

Warranty Card without date! Problem or not?
30-32 is about the going rate for a worn black Daytona. Unworn is close to 34-35. So 28.5 for a worn Daytona with a questionable card, or at least a card incorrectly filled out, not worth it IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Buy the seller. If it’s too good to be true, it probably isn’t.

Hi Goky, apologies for being the bearer of bad news, but I live in Paris and the address of the jeweler on the card is clearly wrong and misspelled. Should not be "4 palace Victor Hugo", but "4 place Victor Hugo".
Looks very questionnable. Doubt the jeweler would misspell his own address... |
