With all the Rolex shenanigans........

What other brands are you considering or buying instead. I would think Omega and Tudor must be doing well.....

Rolex.

Nothing will scratch the itch permanently, IMO. If it’s what you want, it’s what you want.

People are playing shenanigans not Rolex.

Shenanigans: secret or dishonest activity or maneuvering.

Agree, to a large extent. If you want a sub, no other diver will truly scratch that itch. But dress watch? Complications? Chrono? Others have Rolex beat hands down. Buy those watches, no regrets. I wear my Santos as much as my Rolex.

Agreed wondering the same. Seeing as how it will be a long time before I get a 124060 at and AD trying to figure out what to buy in the mean time.

I always look forward to new Tudor releases! I don’t necessarily buy them because they’re mostly new variations of black bays and I already have an OG ETA. But if the next one is a Pelagos variant... I may be interested

I was after a no date sub or explorer 2, but couldn’t get hold of one at an AD. I don’t want to buy gray. So I bought a Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich. Amazing watch- actually can’t stop wearing it, and staring at it!

A lot of brands have seen a surge in their demand and the ability to get discounts is dwindling. Omega is a good example.

Agreed.
Unless one can be confident of having a reliable service network to fall back on, one could be in for a world of pain unless the watch was the right price and or one doesn't get too concerned about the dollars

100% agree with this statement. A bit gun shy on the prospect of service as well.

I’m in limbo with it all. I visited my AD asking about a no date Sub. Although I knew it was very unlikely to happen, he told me he may be able to get me a Sea Dweller. I tried it on and loved it.

The problem I now have is that I want to buy a new watch but I am too scared to do so in case I get the SD call. It could be months / years away but I don’t have the funds to spend on a two new watches as the moment and I don’t want to miss out on the Rolex.

Other watches I’ve been considering are the Omega No Time to Die Seamaster (beautiful but overpriced), the Zenith Chronomaster Sport and the Tag Heuer Monaco Gulf edition.

Many are doing well, including Bvlgari for their impressive Octo FS series. Quite a few independents to choose from. Sure Tudor and Omega are obvious choices. Cartier is a nice classic style.

Just received an orange G Shock for fun.

I’d always do a Panerai love them. That’s really the only other brand I buy outside of Rolex.

Try AP and PP. That’ll have you running back to Rolex in no time.

For me, the current state of the market is just making me sit back, smile, and enjoy my current collection more than ever.

(BTW, there’s no Rolex shenanigans going on. Just a hot brand in the hottest of markets.)

Lol....these are my favorite type posts in these "frustration" kind of threads.

"I've had it with ROLEX and the AD's". "I'll just buy a Patek or AP @ retail instead"!

Like that is going to be any easier....

If folks think the current Rolex market is fueled by shenanigans, then a high school economics class should be on the agenda. Too many people with disposable income want them, and are willing to pay market price. If you are unwilling to pay it, by all means consider other options.

I popped in to my Rolex AD today, I have had my name down for over a year on a few models. Because of the policy change they said I had no chance of the 124060 Sub I wanted as I have no previous spend record with them and the Oyster Perpetual I have listed they are recording 36 expressions of interest per week for; just one AD in god knows how many, so how can Rolex service demand, then there’s the 214270 Explorer I wanted but that is now discontinued. I seriously think I have better odds of giving birth. Glad I bought my DSSD off SC and always rue the day I sold my 214270. Where do we go next? I kind of think Tudor, Omega and Grand Seiko; or maybe a Casio?

I have a great Rolex duo, comprising of a DJ41 and a Submariner which I am very happy with, if any more come along thats great but its not the end of the world if I don't add anything else to the Rolex family.

In addition I also have a nice Omega trio of a Seamaster, Speedmaster and Railmaster, plus watches from Longines, Oris and Seiko. I am open to buying watches I like irrespective of brand, yes another Rolex is on my radar but I understand the current supply v demand issue so if the watch doesn't materialise its not the end of the world.

With all the Rolex shenanigans........

I just snagged one of the last pieces of the discontinued 41mm TAG Heuer Aquaracer with ceramic bezel from an AD. Couldn’t be more pleased. Might even displace my SUB as a daily wear.
