Kids (11-12 year old) watch suggestions
My eldest will be going to secondary school next year and he currently wears some cool Casio watches. That said I’m thinking that maybe for Xmas, we could look for a slightly more “grown up” style watch for him. He loves my diver (SD4K) so perhaps something with a timing bezel.
Any suggestions or ideas on what I should be looking at? I guess ideally under £100 but maybe for something really really special double that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Seiko 5. It’s well over your £100 budget, but a good watch with long history and many options.

Plenty of options from Seiko or maybe a preloved Hamilton

Agreed - A Seiko 5 is arguably the only watch anyone would ever need. Splurge a bit; you won’t need to buy another one for a while.

Can’t go wrong with a Seiko as others have said.
To add something different to a diver I’ll suggest a Timex Q. Got one for my nephew (a little younger than your son) when he was moving to Australia so he could have two time zones. Really cool little watches which feel pretty grown up Great thought on getting him a watch - I’m sure he’ll love whichever one you pick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Been looking at all the different Seiko 5s but that Timex could tick to many boxes! Keep them coming Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Seiko mini turtle if you don’t want to go seiko 5. For cheaper, can look at orient.

Casio makes an analog diver watch for about $60. I think it’s called the Dura. It might be big for a kid, unless your kid is big.
Also, Seiko makes some wacky Seiko 5s that depict anime characters. An 11-12 year old could get a kick out of that. They are on their website. |

Could check out Military Watch Company (MWC). Their automatics use a Seiko NH35a, which is nothing special but also quite reliable. They sell on their own site, but check out the "Surplus" section of www.miltimepieces.com. Just read the descriptions carefully, as they seem to be in varying conditions. They make both dive and field-style watches.

Got a Seiko quartz diver 7548-700L from my grandparents when I was around 12 or 13 years old 1978 or so, IDK… Love that watch and think about them every time I wear it! The bracelet I got from strap code. It originally came with a rubber strap, replaced 3 times.

I like the Seiko 5 diver idea too.
