What is a Datejust 160137?
Hi everyone!
New here (obviously) and recently inherited a twin tone datejust 1984. I have the box and all original paperwork which is handy as well! I’ve read a lot about 16013’s, but I can’t seem to find anything about the 160137. Does the 7 actually mean anything? Any help greatly appreciated! |

Where did you get the '160137' number from? The watch case? Or the paperwork? |

Ah, I think I may be being silly. The watch case and paperwork just refer to 16013, but there’s a faded sticker on the outside of the box with “160137 B” on it. I suspect this must be something the retailer used that means nothing outside of them!
Is there a reference guide anywhere with all the different combinations of watch faces, colors, etc? |

PS: Please DON'T remove the sticker from the box - it's all part of any provenance.
When she was 11 years old, my daughter picked off all the 'model number' stickers from the boxes of most of my vintage pieces. She thought she was 'tidying' them for me. In fact, I'm feeling sick again at the memory of it. |

In many cases an additional digit can refer to the type metal of the watch /8 refers to yellow gold, /9 is white gold, /0 is stainless, have no idea what slash 7 might be. Your watch is most certainly a 16013.

Champagne! That’s the odd thing. It’s twin tone gold and stainless steel otherwise with a jubilee bracelet.

As a brief follow up. The jubilee bracelet needs to be restored, and the watch itself needs a service.
Is there a particular way around anyone would recommend doing this? Was thinking I’d use a RSC for the service, but not the bracelet (as they’ll only offer to sell me a new one). |

For restoring your Jubilee bracelet, go to Michael Young in Hong Kong. He did an amazing job with a HORRIBLY stretched all-YG one for me, it went in looking like something found by a Glastonbury portaloo mudlark and came out looking NEW. Highly recommended

Remove the bracelet, send the head for service to your watchmaker and send the bracelet to whoever is repairing it. Same time.
