Any Fishermen Out There.. What The Hell is this Fish?
I went fishing yesterday and was off the coast of Cape Cod in Nantucket sound area. We were fishing for blues and I caught this fish and no one knows what it is, help.
Sorry about pic. quality its an iphone. The fish was a little over a foot long and weighted about a pound. It was pretty strong too. |

Bruno, that fish is called a sea-robin,it has wings and also has legs,it is edible, but not so good,I've tried them in New Jersey.
Also they are good for bait if fileted. |

How did I catch one of those at the surface? I thought sea robbins were bottom dwelling fish only. I was using a surface lure to catch blues.

It was probably swimming near the top feeding, but yes the fish you caught is typically a bottom dweller.
