SubC Date or Omega Professional 3861
Does anyone own both and have an opinion on one vs the other? Which gets the most worst timeI’ve never been drawn to the speedy from pics, and always loved the sub, but recently tried on the speedy with the new bracelet and liked it a lot.

SubC Date or Omega Professional 3861
I think if I could only had one watch, I’d prefer the sub. If i had a multi watch collection, especially with another diver already in the box, I would strongly consider the 3861. Either watch would be a great addition. Good luck with your choice.

I have had both and you really can’t compare. The Sub is a do it all, never have to take it off daily watch. I love the Speedmaster and have had MANY. I just hate that I can’t swim with it. When I am doing water related activities I like to keep my watch on. I don’t want to have to base what I’m doing around my watch. That always brings me back to the Sub. Buy it, put it on your wrist and you never have to take it off.
The new cal 3861 Speedy is phenomenal on the new bracelet. Love that the movement hacks and the accuracy was awesome compared to the previous model(s). Next year I plan to add a cal 3861 Speedy again. I’m going to try to have 2 watches again. I am a one watch guy, but I love the Speedmaster. It’s just not a one watch watch. Needs to be in a collection. Right now I have a 116710LN and really like it. I plan to have that and a Speedy and be done. Although I do see me trading my GMT towards a Sub again....

I have a Sub and a Speedy. I would recommend the Sub first, if you can get one. But I’m happy to have the Speedy. The Speedy is easier to obtain.

I don’t see these two as comparable in the same sentence. They’re two very different genres of watch with little to no crossover. The omega is a far more delicate watch, not really designed for the types of use the sub was designed for.

They are both great watches but, for me, the Submariner is much more of a great daily watch, while the 3861 Speedy is a change-of-pace watch.
The Sub is just a perfect watch — Rolex hit a homer run with the recent iteration. Similarly, Omega made a much needed and welcomed innovation to the classic Speedy. However, the 3861 Speedy is like the perfect modern incarnation of a vintage watch. The Speedy is a great change-of-pace because it works well on straps. The bracelet fits great and is a revelation compared to previous Speedmaster bracelets, but it falls well short of the Sub’s Oyster w/ glidelock. |

Sub first (if even possible). If not, then the Speedy 3861 is a fantastic watch

SubC Date or Omega Professional 3861
I have the previous versions of both. 114060 and the 1863 Sapphire Sandwich.
I love both. I wear both. I’ll never get rid of either, but if I could only have one, I’d take the Submariner. With that said, you can actually buy a Speedmaster. As opposed to the Submariner, they’re readily available at your local authorized dealer. Go for it! You won’t regret it. I love mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I tried it on and it felt cheap, light, and bracelet trying too hard to be like a president.

I've both and the Sub would still be my first choice purchase wise. But I do love my 3861 and it gets a lot of wrist time!

Owning both I can vouch for getting the subC first as a daily wearer. You can never go wrong with having the date window and the sub feels a lot nicer on the wrist. Having said that, I have been wearing my speedmaster non stop since it was purchased and I absolutely love it. The new style bracelet feels really good as well

I have a Rolex Sub 14060M as well as the Omega First in Space. I really like both, but they each have a different look and feel. The Omega and my Tudor GMT probably get the most wrist time. If I only could have one watch, the Sub would definitely be my choice and can be your go anywhere, do anything watch. If I could have two, the Omega is a great addition and gets plenty of compliments.

I know you asked about the 3861 and the SubC date, but I felt like I could at least chime in with my collection. It’s hard to say which gets the most wear time. I love both equally. The Speedy probably gets more wrist time because I just got it and it also feels alittle more tool like. Honestly if you can stretch get both. Both iconic pieces and once you have both you won’t need any other watch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What is SubC, ceramic?
I have a new Sub and 3861, love both, glad I don't have to choose just one, the Sub has more of a wow factor for me, the 3861 gives me a 1970s vibe. |

I have both. I'll never sell the Moonwatch but it only gets worn a couple times a year.
My GMT II LN gets the most wrist time though. To answer your question get the new SubC...or GMT LN : ) And then get a Hesalite 1861 for less. |
