Anyone know about how long the current waiting time, at a ads list, for a submariner no date is ? Thanks. |

Your question is impossible to answer as it depends on so many variables such as relationship, spend history and many other factors that would be specific to you.
The only real answer is immediately to never. That is truly the best answer you could get based on your question. |

I waited for 2.5 years here in the UK and got mine in Dec 21 just before the price rise!
I had purchased a 2 Rolexes and 3 Tudor watches with the AD so had some spend history otherwise I don’t think I would have got one. I also visited them regularly to keep in touch so they hopefully when they came to allocate one I was there which seems to have worked. Good luck though. |

Me, I have a relationship with my local AD. I've been waiting for either a no date or date for about two years. I have given up hope that I will ever get one.
The AD tells me the same story every six to eight months, "the professional models are extremely hard to get." What pis__es me off is they have a big Rolex road side billboard with a Sub on it. |

I picked one up for my son at my AD 2 weeks before Christmas, it took a couple of months which I was more than happy with. Only other purchase was the new Bluesy, my SA got me both watches in just over a year, good luck my friend hope you get what you want.

Not really too expensive for what you're getting - just reduced profit on resale which shouldn't matter if it's a keeper. The sub is one of the most advanced diving / tool watches out there with incredible reliability and brand value. I have the Tudor GMT - beautiful everyday watch but not a sub by any stretch of the imagination. Pelagos also a completely different beast. Buy what you love and really want.

I've been waiting for a 124060 since October 2020 with my AD. I told them it's to celebrate my upcoming 50th here in April 2022. In April 2021 they installed an EZLINK for me on my OP36 and at the same time I bought my wife the new OP34. When we picked it up my SA said very seriously that he would work on getting me my sub.
I've visited several times since then, chatted with other SAs, and those other SAs seemed to think that it wouldn't be a problem for me to get it in time for my upcoming birthday, but the time is just whizzing by with no call yet. Totally dependent on many many factors... one of which is also 'luck'.
As others have said, I've heard of walk-ins getting lucky, while others wait years. Unfortunately it's a case of how long is a piece of string. |

How long is a piece of string? The wait time seems to vary a lot. And different countries seem to be very different. In the USA you have to spend at least a trillion dollars on jewellery you don't want, and visit the AD three times a week to provide the sales assistants with foot massages and cookies. Elsewhere, you put your name down on the waiting list and wait.
Seriously, put your name down at your local ADs. You may get lucky, and it costs nothing. Also, watches may become more available in future so if you are on the waiting list you may get what you want. Someone from your country may be able to give you a better idea of possible waiting times. Not sure how relevant the experience in other countries is. Good luck. |

There is not a one size fits all solution. It all depends on timing and luck, the best approach is to ask but maintain your expectations low.
I have 2 pretty solid AD’s where I live that have sourced me multiple pieces over the years. I was vacation visiting family at a large city and stopped at the Rolex AD like must of us do when we travel. I stared a conversation with the SA that I had never met, and told her that the next piece I wanted was the 41mm Turquiose OP, I knew it was a long shot. Low and behold, 2 months later she called me to tell me that she had it, if I wanted it was mine. Then after I received it, my wife loved the color so I called the SA back and told her that I wanted a 31mm for my wife, 4 months later we had the pair. Set your expectations low and you wont be disappointed. |

Goldsmiths refused to register my interest for a Sub because I need a Rolex purchase history first. They would, however, register my interest for the Explorer. This happened in May 21 and I got the call in Nov 21. I registered for the Sub and Sub Date on collection of the Explorer. No call yet!

I’ve given up trying to get on the list, non ADs want my money
I did have previous spend history but my two ADs I rated have both closed, nobody new are interested and the sales assistants are the rude people I’ve ever met. Funny how you think Rolex is amazing yet the assistant treats you like you want to buy a pint of milk |

I have no prior purchase history and first visited my AD in Scotland in December 2020. This was with my son and to register an interest in a SS Datejust 41 Wimbledon Dial for his 21st birthday in June 2021.
Prior to going to the store we had saved the images of the DJ 41, SS Sub No Date and OP 42 Black Dial as favourites on the Rolex website. We thought that there was no chance of getting the Sub so didn't even ask for it. We did however show the SA the image and said that we would like to have the DJ 41. He must have noted all of the models whilst we were in the store. In late May 2021 we got the call to go and collect the DJ 41 Wimbledon. Whilst in the store I asked the SA if I could expect the OP 41 any time soon (I had actually forgotten about the Sub by this time). The SA told us that he was still working on it and would call us when he had one. By early October 2021 I had heard nothing more. I decided to send a polite email to the SA asking for any update. The email bounced back as undelivered. I then emailed the manager asking if the SA was still there. The following day another SA called me to explain that my original SA had left and that she would now be taking over my account. She went over my details and the went over my notes of interest which were the Sub and OP 41. I confirmed this with her. By this time my wife had caught the Rolex bug and I asked her to note an interest in a OP 36 on bright blue dial on her behalf. Within an hour she called me to offer a DJ 36 on the bright blue dial. I spoke to my wife but she wasn't interested in this watch. I called the SA to explain that we really appreciated the offer but rather than risk buyers remorse we would decline and wait for the watch we really wanted. Three weeks later the SA calls again to offer me the SS Sun. Needless to say I accepted and picked up the Sub. I don't have any idea if I was actually on the list for a year or if I was just in the right place at the right time when I sent my reminder email. As an aside when collecting the Sub I asked the SA if she had any idea of a delivery date for the OP 36 bright blue dial. She told me that she had no idea but hadn't seen one come into the store in over three months. |

I had some history with the store and managed to pick up a 124060 within 3 weeks of launch in 2020.
But others I know have waited a fair bit longer.
