Got a call..

Any experience out there on waits for Sea-Dweller. Dropped into AD couple weeks ago and tried on a couple “for display only” watches, expressed interest in a Sea-Dweller. Got a call this evening he had one for me.

Is this typical for that reference or am I just crazy lucky..? Can’t wait to get it, but sort of shocked.

Very first piece? more surprising but not impossible

Congrats! Although not an impossible piece to score generally speaking nice timing on your end as it seems many wait a few months before being in a position to score on a SD. Like most, YMMV

It's actually very surprising. A.D.s I've spoken to are anticipating getting some stock in now that Christmas is behind us but it's not like they're overflowing in watches to sell, and they certainly won't be any time soon. Right time, right place. Congrats!

Not uncommon. Too big for many people.

I got mine last year in less than a week after randomly emailing local ADs. No prior spend or contact. It's doesn't seem to be a very popular model because of its size, so I think it is easy to get, at least as far as Rolexes go.

Either way, congrats on your new watch! I love mine.

126600.

The Deep Sea just little too big and I miss not having the cyclops.

Same thing actually happened to me with an SD43. Walked into a small AD just after the holidays (2020), got the call on Valentines Day. First time I had ever been in there. Ended up having a choice between the SD and a Sub Date. If it helps, I’ve since also acquired a SUB41 which I find far more wearable than the SD. Good luck.

I’d like to grab an SD43. Been looking and just haven’t found one of these yet.

It sounds stupid but the red line just does something for me. And never been a fan of the “GAS ESCAPE VALVE” rehaut of the Deep Sea either.

A buddy of mine mgr of AD and mentioned SD43 is easier to come by with less intrest say than a std sub. I've also seem to notice that used pricing on these pieces are not increasing as fast as subs either. Anyone else seeing this?

I myself plan to purchase a SD43 so a nice pickup. Cheers!

I was at an AD in the fall and they said that the although none are a ‘quick/easy’ get from the SeaDweller line the 44mm is the easiest(less interest) followed by the 43mm and then the JC(most interest).

Makes sense I guess, JC given the colour combo, 43mm closer throwback to the double red followed by the larger 44mm

I believe it’s way more of a niche model than the Subs, hence less demand. Two weeks is still very good though. Wear it in good health.

Not uncommon. Timing is everything with that line. Also depends on geographical area you are in. Good relationship building piece of your interested in that sort of thing for future models… congrats

Stunning watch. I’ve been waiting for mine for four months now. AD was hopeful I’d get one by the summer. Congrats

Congratulations. I'd say right place, right time, and a bit of luck. I've been waiting on a SD43 for 13 months and counting....and I have purchase history.

Enjoy it!

I think it's pretty lucky. Seems like ALL Rolex models are in demand at the current moment.

Hopefully you don't show up and it's the two tone variant of the SD43. Congrats!
