OP41 dial swap?

Hypothetically speaking…

Let’s say I can get a good deal on a silver OP41. Could i goto an AD, tell them I think my watch is running slow and that I need it serviced by RSC, and have RSC redial it to a turquoise? Would the AD submit it? And would RSC actually redial it?

Someone with more knowledge about this than I will correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that if you take an OP41 in for "service" because you "think it's running slow," you run the risk of the RSC observing the watch for a while, determining that it's *not* running slow, and then returning it to you without doing anything to it. I think a dial change would only be effected if other services were done.

You can’t just make stuff up. The RSC actually verifies complaints and tests.

They aren’t swapping OP41 dials unless it’s a replacement for the same color. You can’t make a quick buck here.

So it sounds completely absurd, and I agree with everyone that rolex won’t do that… today.

But it was only a few years ago or less they would actually do that. Before the hype, you could go to RSC with almost any modern watch and have the dial or bracelet swapped out for a different type or color, as long as that color or bracelet type was originally offered with that reference.

Some of the responses make it seem like rolex has never operated in that way ever.

I wanted to order a DJ36 with blue fluted dial. My SA said that right now I can only order a white roman dial, but I can swap the dial for the one I want in a few years when the watch goes for service. So not a chance for an immediate swap of dials.

Why swap though? It will NEVER truly be a turquoise OP, because it did not leave the factory that way. I would even say that if the swap is not declared should the watch be resold, that’s borderline fraud if I’m being honest.

as long as all watch parts are authentic and have a rolex certificate to prove it, i'm fine with it.

Buy a fake dial on Aliexpress and have a local jeweler install it. All set for steering wheel shots!

I'm not clear why the ruse about it not running correctly is necessary, relevant or in any way helpful to the dial change quest.

Rolex either will or won't do a dial swap for a price. Doesn't matter if it is in or beyond warranty. Doesn't matter if other work is also needed.

I do know there are some references where Rolex will do this kind of dial change. I do not know if they will change a silver OP to baby blue. I kinda doubt it or people would be doing it and talking about it here.

Why not ask then to swap to a meteorite dial on your OP?

You can swap any color to the dark blue, the black or the silver. That’s it.

They do dial swaps on some models but have a list of models where they can only replace like for like. The OP is on that list for all colours
