Deepsea dial swap advices

Dear Friends.

my AD told me that is possible with an acceptable expense swap the dial of the Deepsea from Black to D-Blue and the other way round. I am waiting to collect one, and I'd like to have both dials, so my question is whether on the new cards there is mention of the color of the installed dial or not?

I tried it 6 years ago, and was told "No" by a Rolex Service Center. Bought a D-Blue and sold the Black in the exchange.

That's how they like things to work too

But it still doesn't account for the OP's desire to have both

That’s interesting, for models that share the same model number but different dial/bracelet configurations Rolex no longer specifies that on the new style warranty cards which include S/N only.
Will RSC provide such information on request down the road if one wants to be sure of buying original factory config ?

My AD told me that there is absolutely no issue to do a dial swap. Cost is 500€ plus manwork…

I thought about a dial swap on my DJ41 (blue to wimbledon) and my AD said it’s about 800€. You can‘t keep the old dial because Rolex does not want a spare part grey market for their brand.

A RSC will not swap the dial…

Will a AD do this work? I believe Rolex only deliver those dials to workshops that can made a proper water resist control on the watch.

I tend to agree.
But stranger things have happened i suppose.
I understand the rationale around both variants having the same reference number. But one pays a premium for the D-blue dial because it's acknowledged as being special by everybody including Rolex so I can't see how Rolex would play in that space
On the balance of probability, if one were to front up to Rolex and ask the question and after having the request granted, Rolex will charge an arm and a leg for the alternate dial and ensure they keep the old one for recycling or destruction so people like the OP can't sell it on the sly when the dust settles.
It is the Rolex way, so I still can't see it happening under any circumstance.

Mine doesn't and in my market, the specials were never denoted on the warranty card so the only thing printed on them as the reference number. For your market it's more specific on the warranty card, but not a global phenomenon.

The commonality of the reference number everywhere else forms the basis of the OP's rationale.

So let me see if I've got this straight
You want to have both dials but you're exploring the possibility of being able to swap a dial for the other variant out of a watch. Likely at great expense as well and you still want to have both dials. Presumably in a watch that's on a rotation with the other.

Why not simply buy one watch as it becomes available and if the desire still takes you, then pick up the other watch when you can???

My AD replaced my 116660 black dial to D blue a few years ago, cost around $700. Sold the watch with both dials. Done this with my 116333 as well, from Wimbledon to Champagne.

If a Deep Sea is sent in for service with an incorrect dial against the serial number then I think a Rolex RSC will replace it with the correct dial. Very few ADs if any have the pressure test equipment to test the watch after the case back has been removed. If a dial swap is completed outside of Rolex RSC for a D Blue you may have your warranty voided too. Its not like a president or other watch where a dial change is possible… At least that is what Rolex RSC London advised me.

Its a bit like swapping out a Black Bezel for a Green one on a Steel sub.. it won’t wash with Rolex…

I didn't think RSC will do this.
My warranty card says "D-Blue" on it.
