Does AP bundle?

Pardon my ignorance on how AP operates - but are Boutiques open to bundling watches? Say if I purchased a Code , would they be open to bundle an RO or does the purchase just merely increase my chances on a waitlist..?

They don't need to. There's plenty of demand for codes as it is.

The cold hard trut, most AP members have the ability to bundle. You can only trust the process.

It depends what you mean by bundle, but keep in mind that none of the boutique have pieces sitting in stock (unless very unpopular ones but it’s getting rare).
So yes you can order and get multiple pieces over the year but that will depend on delivery and allocation of course.
But it is not like you can say ok so I buy 2 codes now and then you can give me a 16202 straight away. You will still have to wait the next delivery that could take few months.
I hope I made myself clear

Everything is possible but not to everybody and it depends on the timing also.

No, remember they are boutique only now not an independent AD. Everything they have sells so bundling for them is actually a disadvantage as their trying to save the limited inventory they get and spread it across as many “qualifying clients” as they can.

AP wait list is around x time, if you buy code for the colour you'll be able to get both.

Which part of that is trying to save inventory? They have sales targets and they know that most people only want an RO or ROO.

If you pick up a code, you'll increase you chances for a RO OR ROO.

That's bundling

The word you're looking for is "diverse collection" - I think with most boutiques it's not as crude as buying a straightforward CODE/RO bundle. And while some other brands couldn't care less about the fate of bundled pieces, I think AP wants their clients to actually like all (or many) of their models, not just the ones going for 3-5x MSRP with greys.

I heard if you offer to sleep with the staff, you get allocated with a skeleton right away.

Jokes aside, it’s important to note that some pieces need HQ’s agreement in order to sell certain high-in-demand pieces. If you buy a code, it probably helps strengthen your case.

Mate, I think you're getting a bit fixated that Codes are freely available and an entry into other AP lines......that's simply not the case and Codes are all wait/allocation pieces too in todays primary market.

Didn’t know that codes are hard to get now. Back in 2019 when I got my RO from the boutique, the sales guy was promoting the Code.

In watch-market years that's like a century ago. IIRC, they made 4000 codes in 2020, up from 2000 in the first year. It seems likely that this is about the current level of production, and therefore's there's not even enough CODEs to go around to "bundle" with ROs, which across all models are probably produced in significantly greater numbers (and are still oversubscribed by a large factor).

That has been the case here in the UK since early summer last year really. Can't speak for other markets though.

Buddy, I’m not fixated about anything, because where I’m at codes are FREELY available. And you can literally get 90% of the ones offered on site in the store without wait. They even sit on displays all over there. So… yeah.

Guess it’s different game play for different places in the world. Thanks for your concern bro.

They are freely available.
Yes covid impacted allocation but these are not wait list pieces.

Based on all my interaction with AP House in the Uk and several friends trying to buy the Code series I know they are not available off the shelf (so to speak) and are all wait pieces.

Intrigued to know who in the Uk is telling you different chap….thanks.

The fact that both of you have their location listed as UK makes this exchange a bit confusing

I’m not currently in the UK but I know the watch market is crazy there so maybe also for codes. But that doesn’t mean that that’s the situation in all boutiques/AP HOUSES

Also, maybe GW could smile a bit more to the staff there and they’ll offer him something. Never heard of someone not managing to purchase a code before. Maybe when he says code he means RO? Maybe he gives the SA flipper vibes?

Agreed.

Or, one fantasy poster vs. someone talking sense for the respective market!

No concern at all but trying to establish where you are as a new contributor here. I’ve asked before what you’d bought or your relationship but didn’t get an answer but I’ve seen a number of your posts (from the Uk?) where you’ve said frequently that Codes are freely available and the key to other allocations.

Fact is for the Uk market with AP today is that is not factual at all so I don’t know where where you’re coming from……Hence the post/query..

That’s it really “bro”
