$2.5 Million Dollar Jaeger LeCoultre Hybris
Holy cow, that's an expensive watch. Over at Luxist (http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/18/2-5...ca-grande-son/)
By Ariel Adams: Another stunner from Jaeger LeCoultre. Maybe an understatement? Aside from the looks and the complications, this watch will cost a 'stunning' $2.5 million dollars. That's the price you pay for the "world's most complex watch." If you purchase the watch, Jaeger LeCoultre includes two of its other highly complex watches (the Gyrotourbillon and the Reverso a Tryptique watches) as part of a three watch set. What did you expect for $2.5 million? The entire collection of three watches arrives in a full safe which is ossibly the largest (and heaviest) watch presentation box to date. In total, 30 sets of the three watches will be available... (catch more of the story at the link posted above).

How much for the ones in stainless steel??
Genius to me. A regulator in a small dial like on a Lange and then plenty of real estate for other interesting complications. |

I see this as a watch arms race. Kudos to JLC to embark on such a venture. It'll be a matter of time 'till the 'big guns' like Patek or IWC come up with an answer. This is great news for the haute horlogerie watch community.
Me? I'm not even able to tell the time from this watch. I'm just a peasant

Wow just when you thought you had seen it all. Kind of makes the $250,000 JLC Master Compressor Extreme LAB an absolute steal by comparison.

Well for the $2.5 Million you actually receive 3 watches
Hybris Mechanica Grande Sonnerie Reverso a Tryptique Gyrotourbillion 30 sets.. Gyrotourbillion has a price of around $300K and Tryptique $450K So the Hybris Mechanica Grande Sonnerie prices out at around $1,750,000.00 Whn you look at the Vacheron Tour De I'lle which is around $2 mil in comparison the JLC is a better value for the most complicated watch in the world.... Although I don't think better value is a concern at that price point I am sure the 30 sets will be sold out within days of release.. Best |

Amazing!
However after spending a good few minutes looking at it, I still can't tell what the time is on that thing! |

Okay this is what I think the watch is telling us the time and date are:
7:52 pm on January 7, which is a Tuesday according to the watch.

You're supposed to tell time with that thing?!

Well maybe I would pay 2,470,000.00 Million but never 2,500,000.00. JLC is making pure art. Congrats to anyone who can foot the bill. If you have a 2.5 million watch I think time is officially irrelevant.
