hello. so I have 1year left on my 5 yr from my 2018 sub date. out of nowhere I feel like my pin doesn’t feel right when opening and closing it. however I was told by my AD jus last week that rolex warranty only covers movement issues and they’ll call my pin “wear and tear” and not cover it?? CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH EXACTLY WHATS COVERED ?

I think he means the crown might be „sticky“.
If so, I don’t think it will be covered under warranty, as it’s nothing abnormal.

As others have said, the warranty covers manufacturing defects not wear and tear, so the crown (assuming you actually mean the crown of course) is a part that is subject to wear and tear. That said, there's obviously a chance of a manufacturing defect in any part, so you may need to be a bit more specific than 'it doesn't feel right' when describing the issue.

Long story short - it's a manufacturing defect, the warranty will cover it: if it's wear and tear, then it won't.

(By the way, I do hope your AD didn't also refer to the crown as a pin)

Perhaps.

A warranty is not a blanket "fix-it" token, it is a guaranty that they will fix manufacturing defects that you may notice during its term.

Wear and tear, or damage, is not covered by a warranty.

Without knowing exactly what your issue is, it would be impossible to know if it may be covered by the warranty or not.

Just send it in for service. Rolex will usually make things right. Besides, might just be a minor issue like something stuck on you clasp, maybe even an small pice of old sticker. You may also want to take a closer look first and see if anything if stuck in there.

Assuming it is the crown that you are referring to I dont think it would have worn in 4 years of use as this is an automatic movement not wound every couple of days.
Most probably some contamination on the thread.
Give it a scrub out and a bit of grease.
Rolex use Fomblin but you would know this?

A touch of vaseline would do.

If the 'pin' you refer to is the crown stem then sometimes they do stick when opening as there are a few internal operations that have to align when you unscrew and pull out to the two positions.

PS. THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOUT.

I personally consider the crown and stem to be part of the movement.

Ask Rolex. They will give you the skinny.

The stem and crown came out of my brand new Timex Marlin and Timex fixed it under warranty.

Maybe Rolex thinks differently, but it doesn't look good that Timex has a better warranty.
