Datejust wait time
Hi all - first time poster here. I put down a deposit for a 126234 with a fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet and silver dial just over 7 months ago. I was told the deposit was because the watch was being ordered specifically for me (which may still be the case), and that the wait time could be around 2-6 months. I am in my mid 20s, so have limited buying history. I have periodically checked with my sales rep, and have been fairly disappointed in her ability to answer simple questions or respond to texts. Is this typical nowadays to wait this long for a DJ? I recently checked with a few other AD’s in nearby cities, and was told they don’t take deposits as they cannot estimate when the watch would arrive. I would like to avoid the grey market as everything I have read over the last year would indicate I should not have to wait this long. Thanks for any advice you have!

I’d head into the Dealership and ask her face to face what the story is.

Welcome! DJ with fluted bezel is a great first Rolex. I can only speak from my personal experience that I never placed a deposit down for a Rolex before. It’s my understanding that it’s not an order but they most likely will be allocated to them. I would definitely go in store and ask for transparency. If you you had another watch that you were hoping for, that would be the best time to leverage it. Good luck and take care!

Same here, no deposit…. Was told wait time is approximately 2-3 months… Apparently Rolex cancelled all unfulfilled orders after February 28th and all would have to be re submitted. So my AD did not submit my order until first week in March because he knew this. Anyone else heard anything similar?

This is an easy watch to source, shouldn’t take too long. I’d go in and pressure them.

Have to agree and seeing the DJ range is Rolex biggest seller world wide if any AD said to me that I must put a 15%- 50% deposit down first, then I would tell that AD politely the second word is off and find another AD.

You shouldn't need a deposit... I'm told it's a 'shorter' lead time, but that could mean anything.

The AD is lying to you. Not even a rainbow daytona requires a deposit. Unfortunately if u get angry with her, u'll never get hr watch. Meanwhile refunding deposits usually takes 1-3months depending on ur luck.

Steel Datejusts in the US are allocated models so they cannot be ordered. Sounds to me like they took a deposit and just sort of agreed to put aside the next one in your configuration that comes in.
Now if they can actually order the watch for you, there is no way it should take 7+ months to arrive. I had a TT DJ41 ordered for me and it took barely a month to arrive. Go talk to them in person and if they give you more double speak demand your money back right there. |

I've bought 2 DJ41's SS from the same AD. The first one I waited about 2 weeks (no deposit) and was given 3 watches to choose from. The second one, for my wife, took about 3 weeks (also no deposit). When we came in to pick it up, she talked them into swapping the original gray dial for blue stix. That took another month or so and cost about $700.

Puzzled as to why they did this when I was requesting a full gold piece and had a YG DJ on my wrist. Never walked in the place before though I had an introduction from a worker and had $40,000 in hundreds to emphasize I am not a tire kicker. Was told 4-8 months. Since then the grey price has jumped from 43k to 52k and they have ghosted my emails and texts. Obviously they can make more selling to a straw buyer or a diamond/jewelry customer at this point. |

I have asked my SA for a DJ36 fluted/jubilee with either white Roman or blue fluted stick dial in January. Put down deposit 1000Eur and was told wait time around 7-8 months.

Datejust wait time
I have the same watch on order. DJ 41, silver dial, fluted bezel, Jubilee. No deposit. I was told 2 months to 1 year. I’m about 2 months in. It’s not really on order though since it’s an allocated watch.

Very good choice. The Datejust must always have a knurled bezel and jubilee bracelet.Don't despair, it's not that long either.

I ordered a fluted DJ41 with blue dial oyster bracelet at the end of November and it arrived at my AD a couple of weeks ago. No deposit required.

They told you 2-6 months so 7 months is not out of line especially considering the Rolex market at current. I personally would not pester them but it is your call regarding what you feel comfortable with.

As best as I can fathom, SAs get an assortment of watches then hit their list of customers. It you ask for something very specific like you did, it is going to take a while. Often you get offered a variety of watches until yours come up. But ever AD is differnt.
