Been reading through the thread about 32xx movement issues here:

As well as other threads, some of which seem to suggest there is no effective fix.

It seems pretty common. Doesn't it put you off buying a new Rolex? Seems kind of odd that demand is so high when there is a problem on an decent percentage of pieces.

I wouldn't role the dice on a watch with one of these movements, especially when there are so many alternatives.

Same can be a a I’d about the Tudor GMT but it remains popular.

Issues aren’t common. Just a vocal minority. As long as you’re covered by warranty you’re good.

Always a risk buying vintage.

My anecdotal evidence is 3 32xx movement watches all running perfectly up to 1.5 years now. Who knows what the future holds. I’m confident they’re fine. Greatly prefer 32xx to 31xx movements or older.

I think the percentage of affected 32xx movements is far less than what this forum makes it.

So if you were in the market for GMT and we’re offered a Rolex BLRO/BLNR from your AD you’d pass?

Me personally am not put off by the movement whatsoever. Admittedly I don’t obsess over time keeping like some. I tend to wear a different watch every couple of days, so in my world, I probably wouldn’t notice if a watch was off a few seconds a day

That’s not to say it isn’t important to others, but to me, I want a good sturdy, reliable watch and Rolex fits the bill

Regarding how common the issue is, no one can really say other than perhaps Rolex (and even they might not be able to). It could be more common than that thread suggests, or less common--it's a nonprobability sample and relies on self-reporting, which can be wrong.

As it is geared towards those having issues, and one would think those having issues may be much more likely to view/vote in the thread, and this suggests that the percent of those reporting issues in that thread is potentially substantially greater than the percent of watches with the 32xx movements that are having issues.

That said, I think what can be stated is that there was or is an issue that was/is at least at a somewhat systematic level that impacted watches spanning several production years and tended to only manifest itself after a year or more of ownership.

It doesn't put me off, but I personally have a preference for the 31xx for the current moment in time.

That makes a lot of sense. It is hard to be sure how big the issue is. I definitely prefer the 31xx movement too though.

wouldn't stop me from getting a rolex i want at all. especially if i already have a collection and have to wind watches every few days

I'm waiting for an Explorer 124270 and as far as I can tell, the 3230 (no date) movement seems good.

For other 32xx movements, there's some suggestion that more recent versions may be good too.

I think there is more out there having problems than we think here. Most buyers do not join watch forums and report they have a problem. Vast majority of 32xx owners with 32xx problems we no nothing about.

I did role the dice because I wanted that GMT and lost.
In a few years there will be a fix

Not put off at all. I've owned watches with the new movement since 2018 with zero issues.
I've had no movement issues with any Rolex in over 20 years of collecting.

Doesn't put me off as I don't track the accuracy of my watches. I just wear them. I'd say 99% of buyers are probably the same.

In any case, my 3235 is under a 5 year warranty. If I notice any significant issues I'll just send it in.

My 126600 was fine for about a year and then suddenly starts losing seconds and even stopped moving.
It was still under warranty, brought the watch to RSC, they mentioned that one of the parts needed to be changed.
After that it was fine until now, very accurate in fact.
