The dive, his submarine and the hype around the watch sold me on getting my deep blue. I’m wearing it today and it remains my favorite. Congrats to James Cameron…

Quite the achievement.
He wore the black dial because the deepblue wasn’t out at the time

Excellent point. When I got mine, a friend pointed that out to me and I told him I knew it but I wanted the tribute piece even more. Besides, up to that time, Rolex had not made too many tribute or honorary or whatever you would call this watch like the Deep Blue. Fantastic watch imo...

No worries! I thought the timing was convenient for a new Deep Sea model also.

Wouldn't that be something? Talk about having a hunk of gold on the wrist.

It would weigh almost a pound! Like 2-3 ounces shy of that.

Perhaps a Deep Sea “ Challenge” to the new Omega?

OOHhhh, have always been fascinated with the DBlue watch and finally picked it up at the AD 2 weeks ago. Perhaps they will discontinue it and have a new anniversary addition?

I wouldnt be surprised if the James Cameron will be gone in a few days! An all-time hero! Completely underrated because of its size what is nonsense as we can see now with the Omega. And no, Rolex dont need to go into a dump competition with Omega about the deepness. Rolex set the standards and isnt just copying like others, in this case Omega! Another good reason to discontinue the James Cameron!

A full WG Deepsea would be epic….and a dumbbell. It’s a watch and a workout in one! Lol
