DD40 Everose Chocolate Motif vs BLNR Jubilee
So I’ve got the bug again and I’m looking at purchasing one of these two very different pieces.
I love the DD40. Though I’ve never owned PM and I’m worried it’s going to be too ostentatious. I’m not a flashy person (this piece will be worth as much as my car) and I’ll be wearing it with jeans and t-shirt most days. On the other hand, the BLNR might not be much less of a statement as the jubilee is quite a shiny thang. And if the Coke on jubilee is announced this month that will complicate things even further. I currently have an Explorer 39 mk2 and a Tudor FXD. I love both, they’re not going anywhere. Any insight, and experience owning either piece is appreciated. |

i would always pick a DD over a steel rolex trading at 2-3x msrp, and even without the premiums as well. PM > SS

DD40. I wear jeans and t-shirt most of the days and even shorts. It has the right amount of flash and blends with my skin tone.

Your not comparing the same league of watches.
DD40 vs BLNR is NOT in the same league. I'm sorry. If you have the $$$ the DD40 wins hands down. /thread |

Matter of opinion. I could have either and don’t like the look of the DD. Too old fashion looking. Sports watches are also more popular.

I disagree, the DD is a legit end game watch. They are in different league’s. |

BLNR with jubilee is only one of 2 Rolex that have stuck with me. I also like it way more than any DD or Datejust because I like Rolex for their ceramic bezels. Pure class and sporty at the same time.

The DD40 is above any SS professional Rolex. It should be compared to a PM professional Rolex to be fair. Which is cooler is subjective.

The guys comparing the SS GMT with a DD40 have lost your minds completely.
I guess you can keep telling yourselves its in the same league if it helps you guys sleep better at night. LOL |

Your current collection suggests you like SS professional references. Of course if your ready to spend the DD is the next logical step if you want a PM watch

Won’t get into which is ‘better’ because in my opinion regardless of the metal is a personal preference. I owned a YG DD for a minute, but was just not for me.
My skin tone is also more befitting RG and like you I like understated. Have you considered one of the RG options on OF? I have the RG YM and love it’s understated feel. I’m also going to be picking up a RG Daytona sometime this year. Working with my AD on dial choice though. Really want chocolate dial, but it may be too hard to read…FWIW I also own BLNR and it’s one of my favorites! I guess part of the fun is deciding?? |

As for those folks saying I can’t compare the two watches…they’re two watches I’m interested in purchasing so of course I can compare them. |

Depends, what do you want with this purchase? Do you want a decent GMT that happens to be riding the hype train. Do you need a GMT? Are you constantly traveling? Working with colleagues in different time zones?
Or, do you want a legitimate end game watch for many? Are you ready to wear a PM icon that is in many ways orders of magnitude more precious than the GMT? Are you capable of pulling off a PM Day Date? Anyone can pull off a GMT if it fits, not everyone can authentically pull off a DD. |
