Which Santos ??

Been wanting to add a Cartier to my collection for awhile and came across these two today. The black with black rubber felt like wearing a cloud on the wrist! It was so comfortable and would be a great piece to wear living in Miami. The Steel/grey also looked amazing, pictures don’t do it justice and I felt it was a bit more versatile with a bracelet and a leather strap. They both have easy quick release for strap changes…

Very conflicted….

I like the steel/grey. I would try to get the rubber strap added for free or buy it.

Steel/grey comes with the rubber strap and bracelet. All black comes with rubber and gator straps.

Not sure why AD told me bracelet version comes with a leather strap…

The rubber strap is rad, and should be what comes with the steel/grey. Like you said, so light and comfy. Kind of the perfect Summer watch.

I have a lot of blue in my collection, so I think I am going to go Steel/Grey.

The new blue bezel Santos are very nice. However, the rubber strap color doesn’t match the bezel color. I’m interested in this watch, but was disappointed to see that the strap color was more Royal blue than navy blue. I’m wondering if this would be annoying to me. Did anyone else notice?

You can’t go wrong here. I got the steel skelly and wear it on the black rubber as well as the bracelet - just ordered the blue rubber strap too.

Living in S. Florida I think I will really appreciate the rubber strap… it was so comfortable! I think I am going to go Steel/Grey on bracelet with leather strap.

Watch looks great! Any idea what they are charging for the blue rubber strap? Thanks in advance!

I just ordered the Steel/Grey one as well. I liked that it came with both bracelet and strap and I thought the dial looked more interesting. Can't wait for it to show up!

For rubber, I like the old 38mm 100XL rubber model before they added the date complication to this new generation Santos.

Agreed I love that model too. Had one but sold it as I thought it was too small.

But that new blue model with white face . . . . . I think I need to try one !

The AD just sent me this as an option as well vs. the Black and Grey…. Oh boy what to do? The white dial is really nice but I feel like the black and grey may be
More versatile!

Thoughts ?

I’ve had the dark one in your hand, now I have the cream blue you also show. For me, I liked how the new one had a touch of that classic colored dial combined with some fun of the blue. Neither will match everything in my opinion and it’s not a daily for me.

Thanks for the feedback! Going to go try on the blue tomorrow. I am leaning towards the blue as it is more unique, and it would not be a daily wearer. I also have more black dials than white in the collection. I did like the flexibility of the steel and black tho with the black rubber. Is it weird that the blue rubber doesn’t quite match the blue bezel?

Yeah the rubber is more navy but on wrist it’s no biggie and I’m about as ocd as they come with watches. The bezel was a wild card for me when viewing release pictures. Now I think it’s great with the brushed and cutouts. One minor thing I really enjoy is there is a high polish bevel? On the outside border of the bezel that looks great at certain angles.

I'm considering the white face large with the scratch magnet bezel vs the new silver and blue PVD bezel. May I please ask if the PVD is tough and scratch resistant? It will be an easier choice for me if the PVD is. I also have OCD issues!

The steel, white dial is the classic Santos and the one I prefer, and own. They are all nice, but I feel the many strap choices that go this combo give it the most versatility.

Yes, steel with white dial is my favourite.
I always prefer a clean and simple look. Evidently, when I had to choose a Submariner, I chose the NoDate.

I also went with the sub with no date. I absolutely love the white dial santos. I'm just scared of the scratches as the bezel is like looking into a mirror. I really appreciate all your guidance. Many thanks.

Does not scratch that easily, and can be polished out when necessary.

Went to the Cartier boutique today and saw the new Santos with blue bezel and silver dial.
Tried it with both the bracelet and rubber strap.

It looks stunning. Fits beautiful and feel great on the wrist.

My problem was I really struggled the read the time.
Without my glasses, the thin blue numerals and cream hands against the silver dial was just not enough contrast to make out the time.
I found even with my glasses on the striped dial just picked up too many reflections and made it difficult to read.

Whilst I really like it - I want to be able to read it.
Pity as I think its beautiful.

I’ll have a look at the steel and black bezel with black dial when they next get it in.
The numerals seem wider and easier to read

I hate getting old
