14060 4 liner market history?

Trivia question.

Does anyone remember what an excellent condition 14060 4 liner full set was going for pre Covid?

I’m thinking in the 10k range for a good example

Probably the same as many other members.

Waiting on the call from AD on a new no date sub. But if does not come soon, will be purchasing on the secondary from a top tier TS. Down between a black OP 41, a 14060 4 liner, or a current release no date sub.

As you can tell, I have a preference for black dial no date references with no polished links.

Not an investment person. But just curious where the 14060 was before the market went nuts.

C24 have the value of 14060M 4-liner at USD $7800 in Feb 2020. It's now about $11500.

I missed out on one at a dealer here in Dubai which was priced at $9500 with a full set. I think this was pre covid

A quick search indicates $13-$14K depending on seller, etc.

I know they were going for 7-7.5K in January of that year because I found one for 6.5 and jumped on it. It had like 200 views in 24 hours (C24). The price really climbed in the next couple of months too. V serial. NOS were 9-ish

I just has taken a look at older pics stored in my phone. My previous 4 liner full set was offered at $6950 2/7/2019 from a reputable seller on here (I traded it towards a Z serial LV model at the time). But he tends to list his items for under current MV when he lists them that is.

I bought one pre-covid. Full set. £7,000 GBP. Unsure what the conversion was to USD at the time. I feel your pain re AD waiting and have really started to look back towards older models. I am fairly happy with my collection at the moment but drawn to a vintage 1680 red.

I recently wore my green sub black dial and had 4 people comment. Nice hulk. I didn't correct them on the reference but didn't feel comfortable that people were looking/knew roughly what I had. I think the older 5 and 4 digits can fly under the radar. Especially on a nato or leather strap.

Apologies for the tangent and best of luck in whatever you decide.

I bought a new/stickered example for £3000 in 2010. Sold it for the same price in 2012 and then bought another NOS stickered example for £4670 in 2016. To be frank it wasn't worth what I paid back in 2010 never mind 2016. To pay the prices they are asking today is IMO totally insane. If you can do a trade then great but really $13000+ for a 14060M.....they are having a laugh!!

As mentioned, I bought one for 13K. As mentioned, it was in unpolished/super sharp condition. That said, I agree with you. In the hand it does not feel like it should be worth what it is. I've got 4K Omegas that blow it out of the water in terms of luxury feel. But I guess people buy things based on other factors.

Thanks all for the response. This matches with my research of 12-13+ ask before the recent rumored or actual (depending on your view) beginnings of a correction. Of course a buyer never knows what the final agreed prices are.

My view of the watch: a classic with perfect proportions and a great movement. Just wish it came with SEL. But sadly it you have to jump to 6 digits for that.

I've got both the 14060m and the 16610 and I can't decide which I like better, despite trying really hard to do so. Had always planned on keeping just one of the two. Maybe one day I'll have the revelation.

14060m 4 liner does come with SEL
Post 2001-2002 all bracelets have SEL ( even though some have lug hole case, as y and k serial exp ii and gmt 16710.

Fortune to have a nice collection including modern sub kermit c and 114060, new oyster blro, and stainless daytona

Nothing comes close to the beauty of 14060m, the elegance, proportions, vintage look yet modern feel,
I had to have one , paid dearly for NOS example

Nope, check your facts, the 14060 has never had SEL.

Not true no 14060 or 14060M ever had a SEL bracelet just the non SEL 93150 both SD and Date Subs have lips machined into there cases for the SEL while the 14060 or 14060M does not, the M stands for modified movement the change from Cal 3000 to Cal 3130 around 2000.

I paid 6,900 in 2018 for a super minty 2 line 14060M complete set from a very reputable dealer on here. Prices are crazy now.

Is there even a sports Rolex for a 4 digit price anymore? Offhand, I can't think of anything under $10K new after tax or used/vintage. I remember when a few thousand bucks was a lot for a watch. A Rolex Sub for $4500 was expensive. Now, not so much...

Both Explorer 1 and 2 (5 digits) can be comfortably bought for under $10k

Good call! Wasn’t sure if those had hit the $10k mark yet. A 16570 for under $10k would be a good buy for someone in this day and age.
