Poorer Selling Models....
Pinched from another topic
Quote:
Always wondered why Tolex didn't stop those lines and concentrate on just the faster selling SS sports models. I guess we'll never actually know, but it just seemed odd...

Poorer Selling Models....
Everything Rolex produces is sold. To their network of authorized dealers. Even back in the day. The fact that they were slower sellers at retail never affected Rolex itself. However the allocation of production towards different models was always varied. i.e. less Daytonas produced than say Datejusts

The 116610LV gathered dust for years. Should Rolex have stopped making it? I suspect they know what they are doing. By contrast, we don't know anything about production numbers, sales volumes of different models in different regions and what watches sell in higher quantities in various parts of the world.
The evidence of my eyes and ears suggest that Professional models are more sought after. But I only know one AD, so it's not necessarily a representative sample. I see more Classic line watches being sold or brought in for service/repair at my AD than Professional models. Are the Classic watches more popular, are they made in higher numbers, less reliable, or kept for longer? |

Perhaps because a diver is best made of gold being the inert material it is.
