Tudor shopping in London and Paris?

I’ve been shopping (and in the list locally) for a Tudor chrono reverse panda. So far, I’ve had no luck finding one at an AD. (I don’t want a gray market one, and don’t honk I should have to pay a premium for this watch.)

I have plans to be in London and Paris. Does anyone have experience in those markets? Would it be easier to locate a Tudor chrono at an AD there? Fo you think it’s reasonable to think I could buy one as a walk-in?

Thanks.

I live in the UK and I’ve only seen one Tudor chronograph in the AD’s window and that was on a strap and it was bought within 10mins of the store opening. I think you will have your work cut out trying to get one in Paris or London but good luck.

I've seen one on a strap in Canada. I am pretty sure the bracelet models are all bought up. I wonder if you can buy the bracelet after with Tudor. I've bought the fabric straps separately before.

Do any of your local ADs have waiting lists? It's a high demand model at the moment. Wait or pay the premium. I've seen to Tudor Chronos for sale by greys in Canada, one was reverse (I assume you mean black dial), and it was only $200 or $300 over what a new one at MSRP plus tax would cost. That's not too much of a premium.

Almost zero chance in the UK at the moment.

If you find the US market tough, you’ll be even more disappointed with London and Paris.
Enjoy the cities and join a waitlist back home is my advice.

Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping that there'd be some relief in a different market and that time would be on my side since I've already been waiting months.

I always had the impression that Tudors are pretty easy to acquire. This is amazing.

I waited a year for a chrono panda and just got it this week. My AD had said they’re just not seeing many chronos come in. One SA at the AD said she’d never seen one.

But the SA who sold my wife my watch said they got 3 in one shipment so maybe Tudor is getting more out there.

Good luck!

In Paris, potential buyers talk about waiting lists. It would seem that it is easier to find some in Paris in big ADs like Dubail (champs élysées or place Vendôme) or Bucherer
On the other hand, I don't know if local customers are privileged.

Good luck.

London and Vienna’s Rolex and Tudor ADs have full display cases of watches from steel to 2 tone to full gold. All sizes and models, but none are for sale. All are claimed to be exhibition only. I asked to buy a 31mm 2 tone with diamonds that was in the display case. The sales rep said no. Rolex is up to something strange.

I saw this picture and imagined that man sitting in the chair asking to buy a watch and the SA sitting across from him responding, "NO!"

Good times!

I visited Mappin & Webb in Piccadilly (London) and asked about a Tudor Chronograph. The saleswoman shared that she’s only seen 3-4 in the past year.

Apparently, too, the Tudor GMT is very popular. She said a customer who purchased the GMT went to France and was offered a Tudor Chronograph in exchange for his (now used) GMT.

I still find it ridiculous that these watches are so hard to find. I can’t imagine this is only a production or supply chain issue. I hope Tudor is not playing games like Rolex is doing.

The chronographs are harder to come by but you can actually buy Tudor GMTs (79830RB) online through an AD. Finks sent out an email advertising this last week.

Considering that the London metropolitan area has more than 14 million people and the Paris metropolitan area has more than 12 million people, with a tremendous demand for Rolex/Tudor, it is hardly going to be awarded to a foreigner. It's easier to win the lottery.

I understand that Rolex ADs play the game of “encouraging” additional purchases and giving them early (or exclusive) access to different watches, but I’m disappointed if Tudor now is so popular and exclusive that they play the same game.

A popular watch will go to the locals first, but, eventually, I’d expect Tudors to be regularly stocked items ready for sale to anyone wanting to buy them.

I live in London. I am going to be an optimist. Try the Tiudor Boutique in White City shopping Mall. The staff there are great. Be very polite, be truthful and you never know. They are a good bunch in there and they will have some through the back.
Good luck.

Thank you! I’ll try to get over there before my departure. I’m also an optimist and don’t mind nicely asking the local ADs. The worst they can say is, “no,” and I get to enjoy what they have in their cases. Eventually, there has to be one out there that’s not spoken for! Thanks again!

I believe that certain Tudor models are already on the path to scarcity and allocation...

And if history is a guide, it will continue. I would look to obtain now.

Got both the panda and reverse panda thru ADs online in Hong Kong. Checking their online stores regularly and eventually got lucky.

Have seen more availability of the reverse panda than the panda.

I found one! I have to thank Chronopassion in Paris for all their help. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with.

Thanks for everyone's advice and comments in this thread.

Cheers!
