Santos popularity

Is it just me or are Cartier Santos' becoming uber popular? I bought one a few weeks back but it had a mechanical issue. Was looking for another one on the gray market but dealers are now trying to get over retail for a watch that used to be heavily discounted. And they're relatively hard to find (at least, the Santos medium is).

Anyone else noticing this?

Nice watch, but I see the opposite in the secondary market. While they were close to retail a few months back, they are selling for a discount at the moment.

At this moment, it should be 5-10% less than MSRP.

It's been a while (2021), but my AD had the medium (and large) and I tried it on. Nice watch.

Not sure if anyone noticed but Cartier lowered their prices in the US. I bought a Tank Américaine L in steel in the Hudson Yards boutique in September 2021 for $6300. Now the website lists it for $6000.

Thé Tank LC in RG manual wind was I think $13500 in May and is now listed at $12800. I checked the French Cartier website and that price is still the same today as it was in May.

I'm considering the Santos as well in Medium SS. Can anyone provide what the current market is today and perhaps suggest an AD?

Thank you.

I picked mine up at a Boutique and paid full price. Checked with a couple AD's and they also said no discount. You might be able to get a bit of a discount going grey or preowned.

Thank you Michelle.

May I inquire, how long have you had yours and your overall level of satisfaction including accuracy? The bracelet appears outstanding to me and
I don't think I'd miss not having a date or lume.

I've had it for about a year now. I really do love it. So comfortable. as far as accuracy. I don't really check unless it seems noticeably off.

Went to 2 ad’s this weekend as my husband is considering a TT Santos. One was cleaned unit from Christmas with very little left. The other location has more inventory but still not much. We have a long and good purchase history and even that was told not to expect much off.

I got mine at a boutique, no discount but asked for an additional strap to go with it. They let me choose any strap so I chose an alligator strap. I've had my Santos for 4 years and I love it. I also bought the rubber straps from the ADLC model which are very comfortable and great for the summer.

Thanks! I bought the black rubber strap for it too. Both colors look great with it due to the gradient blue dial.

Here it is on the black strap.

I got 22% off at an AD around a year ago. Market is even softer now, so something near that should be attainable. They clearly have the margins to do this. If one AD says no, just call another one. They can ship these out of state for you, so you go can look at any AD - try a smaller one unaffiliated with a large chain.

I purchased the santos large over 3 years ago through a grey dealer for a hefty discount. I love the watch and it is frequent in my rotation. Love the feel of the bracelet on the wrist. No complaints.
