Your honest opinion.
Used to 36mm, when I wear a 40mm, even if it's a 5 digit, it looks big to me. I ask for your honest opinion, is the watch too big for me?

In my opinion this watch have very good fit to your wrist. I have vintage DJ 36 too and when I putting my Explorer II 42mm it takes some time to find it comfortable. For me this watch is perfect for you.

It's alright - as long as you can see one bracelet link on either side, it won't look huge. A 36 would probably look better, though.

That’s fine !
I’m agree that 36 is your size, but this one is not so huge to be honest. Great pick by the way… Instagram : @watch.me.tickin Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

What does your wrist measure? Pictures are deceiving.

I disagree.
The pic is just fine in this case. Going down the rabbit hole of measurements for this and measurements for that is counter productive where simple visuals and instinct with a dose of good taste will rule |

mine's about the same size and I love my 16570.
Pictures are very misleading for a variety of reasons. The watch fits you fine.

Anything smaller would look comical IMHO.

Looks alright. White dials usually look larger than they really are so the fact that this is a polar doesn’t help your cause. But it does look ok.
The watch size should really match your overall size and shape. Focusing on the wrist can be misleading. Look at yourself in a full size mirror 6 ft away and see how it looks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My honest opinion is that if you think it's too big for you, it is. Makes no difference what anyone else thinks. They are not wearing it.

Phone pics tend to artificially enlarge the look of watches on the wrist when the shot is close. Yours doesn’t look too big to me, but really, all that matters is what YOU think.

Looks fine to me. Top end size wise of what would fit your wrist for sure (just judging by this one photo) but yeah, looks good.

Personally speaking, for me it's about "lug overhang". If the lugs overhang the sides of my wrist then I feel a watch is definitely too big for me. By that rationale I'd say your Explorer II is fine, but you're certainly on the cusp there OP (assuming the picture just isn't foreshortening it).
But as Harry-57 said, if you're asking the question it means you're already unsure, and no amount of opinions from random folk on the internet will change your mind. Ultimately, only you will know if it's too big for you.

What Brian said. Pictures taken up close always makes the watch looks larger.

Probably just about ok. If lugs drop off a cliff then it is too big.
36mm will look better with less lug to lug distance. |

As another member said, from the lugs it does seem to be large for your wrist.

I think it looks great. A very cool reference. It is the visual of the change between 36 mm and 40 mm. You have the wrist to wear it.

It seems to me that many people overthink the "does this look too big/small". If you like the piece you should wear it and enjoy it. That's what I do.
