Incoming! Black Dial Red GMT Hand

I’ve always wanted this reference. Took advantage of depressed prices right now and got a fresh example with crispy unpolished edges :-)

It’s certainly a lot smaller than my SD43!! I like that it will fly under the radar and feel like an upscale field watch.

Was wondering though.. what do you all think about removing the sticker from the case back? It’s certainly been worn with it and the watch is now about 17yrs old. I’m tempted to take it off just from a hygiene perspective. I don’t plan to sell it anytime soon but I’m trying to think if it’s really worth anything extra in the future with that sticker. The watch is naked otherwise so it’s not like it’s a full set NOS watch that of course I would leave a sticker on..

That is such an exceptional and at the same time (IMHO) under-appreciated models Rolex ever created. Huge congrats!

My 20+ year old YG Daytona went to RSC with the green case back sticker still on. Came back without the sticker. Should have removed it when it was new. No point keeping it on the watch.

Awesome watch, congrats! I’d loose the sticker. It would gross me out.

FWIW, I think that is the best Rolex clasp of all time. It’s so flat, small and lightweight, it has micro adjustment, it has the safety latch, and it has the wonderfully quirky link pattern. Love that one.

Amazing watch. Love the 16570. I have a 216570. Do your self a favor and if your going to keep the watch. Remove the sticker. It will trap dirt on the glue side and cause undue wear to the case back.
Stellar find really in greta shape.

Agreed, remove the sticker. Unless it was a safe queen, the sticker is gross.

Congratulations and this one looks like it is in great shape for a 17 yr old watch. I would remove that sticker as to me it is just a hygiene concern. I love this reference as it goes with anything and I have tried it on RubberB and other straps.

Wear it in good health.

Congrats on the watch - probably the best value you can get right now. I personally prefer to leave the sticker.

Terrific purchase in my opinion! I’ve owned a version of this watch since 2007. Owned the Polar and now a black dial example. It has survived and kept a place in my smallish collection. Only my BLRO and Daytonas can make that claim.

I remember that watch when it was new. Boy that takes me back.
If it were me, I’d probably leave the sticker on for nostalgia reasons alone since it’s been on this long. We use to always leave those holographic stickers on and they held up.

Looks so fresh and clean.

I would peel the sticker and “make it mine”. :-)

Sticker officially removed. The residue was kind of tough to clean off. Used a popsicle stick to scrape at it and then used dawn detergent and hot water. A baby wipe had just enough friction to lift the remaining residue.

She’s now “mine” in all her de-stickered glory.

I don’t really understand why this reference is so undervalued. It wears very much like a Daytona but much slimmer on the wrist, which is really in vogue now (think Nautilus, Royal Oak). It’s a real bargain.
