root beer or polar exp 2?

hello all-

just wanted to get some opinions on this topic. i love my root beer but man that polar exp2 is stunning and really pops…just curious because i am strongly considering getting an exp2 and gifting the root beer to my wife. (yes she can wear my watches but we don’t have the same wrist size and not realistic to size a watch everytime she wants to wear it)

I prefer the root beer by a large margin but plenty feel otherwise. Totally subjective.

I prefer the rootbeer (by far)
But if I understand well, the rootbeer would
Remain in family…
So go for the Polar!!

Root Beer over the polar for me but it’s what you like, not what I like.

I have a black dial 42mm Exp2, and it’s a handsome watch but if I had to keep just one I’d be keeping to Root Beer.

Root Beer for me! I have a smaller wrist, so the 40mm fits me better. Plus, I like the look over the Polar. Polar is still a very stunning piece tho.

the new 226570 wears VERY similar to the sub / gmt case. it's about 41mm.

Explorer 2 is awesome, especially the polar. I just gone one myself :)

BUT!!! it's easily the LEAST versatile sports watch in the collection. It's VERY "tooly".

Even the black dial helps make it more versatile with the touch of white gold on the hands and indices.

They are both superb watches. If I could only have one it would be the Polar, although it is bigger than the CHNR and this should be taken into consideration.

The fat blue lumes which glow brightly in the shade and cast a blue glow over the white dial, the easily legible black edged indices and hands plus the fat GMT pointer, the radially brushed retro bezel, it's a special watch. Along with the Daytona, it's a rarity in the Rolex range because it doesn't look like everything else.

If you have both in your collection, all the better.

I love the polar. Root beers are great too, so you can’t go wrong, but I would pick polar.

The current 50th anniversary Explorer II is very nice. If you like a larger diameter case. The white dial is very easy to read and on a dark brown strap, it might look even better.

In the ExII, black face is the way to go... it's exceptional with the new coating on the sapphire.

But that rootbeer is very pretty.

vote... ExII in black.

You can dress the root beer up and down and spin it around.

The polar is best at home dressed down.

Think about it that way.

I think getting the Polar and gifting the CHNR to the wife is a great option!

Best of both worlds! You get the new ExpII and don't have to sell the CHNR.
