Why a 2022 watch is quoted more than a 2021 also new

Any Thoughts why the difference in price even though both can almost have the same remaining years of warranties

If you’re looking at random prices from grey dealers you’ll have difficulty establishing any method in the madness. They set their prices and decide what they want…you could easily broaden your search and find the opposite. Namely, a 2017 costing more than a 2022.

Witchcraft? Twilight zone? Parallel universe?

Rolex doesn’t have year models. Only difference would be remaining warranty which matters to some people.

A fresh 2022 hasn’t been passed and pawed around by as many dealers

Didn’t Rolex have a price increase at the beginning of the year? If so, then it would make sense that a 2021 model would be lower in price, because the AD paid less to Rolex for it.

Longer warranty period and less chance of being worn but sold as new.

Condition?
Box and papers?
Less than 1 year difference in warranty?
Closer to 2 years difference in warranty?

Too many variables and too many watches to even beging to answer the question.

Probably because the 2021 is older than 2022

Would you pay more for an older reg car same model? One with more miles on it?

That's basically it.

Are you looking at Secondary Market pricing. If they are both "new", they would not have different warranties; the warranty starts when they are purchased new.

At an AD they would not be sold as a 2021 or 2022 model unless there has been an obvious, advertised, change. Even then, the MSRP is usually the same.

If it is a reseller or used shop, they can ask anything they want for any make or model. What they ask for is frequently not what they sell for.

Even dial color for the same model would have an effect.

Or…maybe one dealer is less greedy…

why a 2021 watch has the same warranty left as a 2022 watch?

Have a guy here at work, he was going to buy a new 2022, only it didnt have all the electronics due to shortages, he said ok but can i add the electronic when everything is back to normal. They said no, they didnt install the harnesses. ( SAD HUH ).

But they told him he could buy the 2 year old one (2020) on the lot but it was 6k more and it has all the electronics and more!

he walked out....i wouldn't of believed this story if i heard it from someone else...but i know the guy....

the story about cars..

as to the Rolex, its 2022 and the other is a year older 2021, no matter what..
