Any love for Citizen ?
Had my eye on this one for a while & managed to pick it up on eBay for £96
It’s the Citizen BN0150. There’s a blue face 0151 but this came up first & I wasn’t too sure about the blue face/ blue strap Feels/ looks a lot better than my seiko SKX007 Anyone looking for a holiday watch/ new beater could do a lot worse than give this a second look Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had a couple before I got into nice watches. Good value.
For beaters now I just use a Rolex or G-Shock.

Very nice!!! There's a connection between Seiko and Citizen, one owns the other, not sure which way it goes. They have a good reputation.

As far as I know they are two completely separate companies with no connection at all, and always have been.

For their price range, their reputation is a good one.

I have three Eco-Drive Citizen watches and my son has two. They're all good, solid, no nonsense keepers of time. Two of them were gifts. I wear them for daily nothing special wear in rotation with the Seiko Monster and Squale, leaving the Rolex and Mido for dress or casual, respectively. I like that they're always ready, never need winding or setting the date. I can forget them for weeks without concern and then use any with no prep. One of them sets automatically each night to the atomic clock and another has a perpetual calendar and dual time so, in theory, if I've set it up properly I only need to adjust for DST twice/year and it should account for leap years itself. Overall they seem reasonably robust.
OP, I like the one you've shown. It certainly resembles a Seiko SKX007 to me and I like the simpler dial with date window, as the ones I have all have faux chrono dials for calendar and features, which is kind of lame IMO.

Keeping time for nearly 40 years without a service.
Titanium (pre) eco drive. I have also dealt with corporate for a custom project. The company and products are magnificent

I once had the Aqualand with depth indicator, really nice, it came in a small scuba bottle. Used it very hard without issues until I lost it overboard during a dive in Curacao.
Good quality brand imho

I like Citizen quite a bit. Not every model is for me, but their Eco Drive tech is cool. I'd take the cal 0100 watch over many, if not all, mechanical watches. Also the new cal 0200 is pretty cool.
I have a Stiletto Eco drive. I don't wear it often, but I like it quite a bit. It's THIN! |

They are really good watches. I’ve had a few over the years. I wish they could rebrand themselves a bit to get to that Seiko sort of recognition as I believe they are right there with them.

I had a nice Citizen dress watch that I bought from Macy's maybe 10 years ago. White dial, brown leather strap. Really liked it and wore it 24/7 for about 2 years. A spring bar failed and unfortunately lost it.
I like the Citizen you posted. Looks great. |

I had a Citizen Chronomaster before and it was good, very good. I am eyeing the eco drive model and hope one day will add one in my collection.

There's no better watch than the Citizen eco drive at the price point and, dare I say, even far beyond. I've had a couple, eventually gifted to friends and family who still wear them. Absolutely love citizen and would be my watch of choice if I didn't have my Rolex.

I have owned three. The strap broke on one and nobody seems to be able to replace it. The second, which was my Blue Angels Navihawk took one water from somewhere. I didn't wear it swimming or anything like that, but guess a seal broke. Nobody can repair it except for Citizen.
And then I have my third, which is a Titanium Skyhawk I happen to be wearing today prior to seeing this thread. All have been good solid watches which I wore daily for years. Since my watch collection has grown in the last couple of years I wear it less and less, but I have had this one since 2001 and it has never missed a beat. So, I like Citizen and would be quite happy to own more of them. PDG |

I don't know as much about Citizen as I would like to, but I had one of their cool 1960s Leopard Super Beats (28,800bph) that I donated to a charity auction a couple of years ago, and I know their early chronometers were up there with Grand Seiko in the 60s-70s. I also know their relationship with Bulova goes way back before the acquisition of that company (and several European watch brands), and I believe they supplied movements for the Caravelle line back in the day. They make some very interesting diver and pilot watches, too. That's it really, off the top of my head. I have respect for the brand, but I wouldn't trade my SKX for that Eco-Drive.
