Do I hold out for AP dream or take the VC?
I just received an offer for VC overseas silver and I like the watch but my AP SA just said they may receive a shipment soon. Is that a hint or am I overthinking? Id rather have the RO or ROO but I do really like the VC and only can get one this year.

The AP boutique I talked to made it sound pretty reasonable to get a ROO do you may hold out if you’d much rather have that. Although there’s an expression about a bird in the hand that applies here.

I'll buy the vc overseas from you if you'd like, and you will have a purchase history with them. you will then still have cash for an ap :)
at the end of the day, you should not settle for anything except your top choice, especially now. new data is coming in every week from the fed about broader consumer spend, and I see the watch industry becoming a buyer's market very soon |

Vc make far fewer watches per annum than ap
However in the end I’d wait for or buy which one you love |

Market continues to soften.
But beyond this. Always get the one you want. The most expensive mistakes in collecting are buying the second pick, missing the first, and then paying for the top pick anyways. |

If your AP SA can assure you of a RO 15500 allocation, then probably you should give up the VCO allocation. Between the VCO and the ROO, ultimately it depends which one you like. Since you have indicated you prefer the ROO, I think its best you give up the VCO and push for the ROO or RO.
I don't think AP are delivering any 15500ST anymore as it has been replaced by the 15510ST. The 15510ST would be impossible for new customers this year. |

I just sold my VC OS Dual Time Blue Dial. It's a great watch but, I found myself not wearing it much after almost 2 years of ownership and moved on. I don't think it has the staying power of an AP RO.
Also, I found the secondary pricing with grey dealers softened quite a bit with most greys not wanting to even buy it. For what it's worth, I would wait for the RO.

I had the blue dial VC overseas, great watch but something just didn’t do it for me. RO everyday long for me. Hold out for what you really want.

IMO, VC Overseas is the best 1 watch collection.
However if you have multiple watches, you’ll find the RO more striking, the aquanaut more effortless to wear, the Nautilus more of an occasion. |

The thing with AP is that they are never transparent. If you also like the VC and there is confirmed availability, go for the VC.

I'd wait for the AP.
My feeling is that Overseas will become much easier to grab in the next few months as the general hype on sports' model will continue to fade. The overseas was always a plan B to RO and Nautis... |

I had to wait almost 2.5 years for my 15500. But I was told I would get my watch, I just had to be patient I was told.
2 years past and I decided to inquire if I was still 'on the list' and was assured I would get the watch. IMHO: if your SA told you you'll get one, just wait. If they can't promise you one get the VC and be happy with that.

One on the wrist is worth several on the list. Unless the SA can tell you that you are allocated one and the time frame I would take the VC. I would take the VC anyway as I prefer it to the AP. Good luck and let us know how this plays out.

The VC won’t substitute your true watch desire. I’d hold out for the AP

I wear the VCO much more frequently than the RO. It feels a bit more "robust" for everyday use, and can be mounted on the rubber strap. It's also less likely to attract unwanted attention, which has become an unfortunate concern these days.
