Is it getting easier to be allocated a 50th Anniv?

Good day folks!

I have a friend that got allocated a blue 41mm 50th Ann as his first watch.
Now I understand blue dials have generally never been easy, but I seem to be hearing that 50th anniversary allocations are getting easier and I'm wondering if there is any truth to that.

I'm aiming for a blue 15550 (37mm) in blue.
Ideally I'd like the baby blue, but I know that one is impossible, and I am hoping the regular blue is slightly easier.
It wouldn't be my first AP, but it would be my first in a long time, and I'm hoping that it happens, though I'm not sure what my chances are as I dont exactly have a special relationship with this boutique.

I picked up a 16202st a couple weeks ago.

I purchased two RO's prior, but was still surprised to get the call on the new jumbo

Yes. I’ve been allocated The 16240ST AP RO 50TH, 5711-1A-018 Patek and the Rolex Daytona M116519LN-0038. All in one month. In the beginning I thought I was being a delusional fantasist. Expecting a few more incoming pieces next week. What’s next?

It’s nice to see that sarcasm and poor humor is still alive and strong in the United Kingdom.

It’s always healthy to laugh and smile.

I woke up this morning and realized it was just a dream but hey, you never know when you’re gonna get the call.

Will never understand AP's criteria. I am 5 watches in and still no blue dial meanwhile another guy gets a blue 50th as his first lol. Congrats to him!

New to AP - been waiting for a year but still told pretty much no chance for one this year. Completely understand as it makes sense for 50th anniversary items to be allocated to previous customers.

After the market correction or whatever you want to call it, it is easier to get.

I doubt it is getting easier but I have never a big fan of commemorative editions. I'd much rather have a regular rotor than the 50th anniversary thing but at least AP didn't ruin the dials with a tombstone a la Patek with their 40th anniversary Nautilus.

My thoughts too. I want my first AP to be special to me not necessarily a comparative/special watch for AP themselves. Fingers crossed for a regular rota RO next year…
