This is why and how watchmakers lose customers and open competition…
Was talking to a poor (not as wealthy as me) and he was upset because he can get a decent $500 pair of calf, hand finished, made in England boots without naming the maker, OR a single (3 pictured) factory OEM Italian calf replacement watch strap for a watch we won’t mention.
What say you all!!!!!!??????!!!!!!! |

Those boots are killer. Yeah, the profit margins on watch straps for nice watches must be enormous.

For MTO boots, G&G. For MTO watch straps, Equus. Both made in England.

Thinkin' outside the box here,......... I'm thinking you buy the boots and attach the Panerai watch to the boot laces and you've got a win-win here.

It's funny how life works...I'll never spend $500 on a pair of boots (I like deals!), but will spend a few hundred dollars on multiple straps that I'll barely wear without batting an eye.
Also - "I was talking to a poor..." - you crazy, Chewy!

All other Jesse and Mrs Jesse destinations are sun and sand anyway so your $350 Balenciaga flip flops are fine. |

Without matching driving gloves they're pretty worthless as an outfit.

It's all you wildey rascaley kids and your new fashion-forward style. What ever happened to the classics, like black leather buttless chaps and matching biker vest?

Panerai makes nice straps for the price. I particularly like their buffalo leather strap. Considering what some NATO straps cost from manufactures, I think plenty fair for OEM. Some non-OEM straps are more pricey as well. You can find deals on many non-OEM though since lots of competition. Not cheap to hold that much slow turnover inventory, with that many OEM options. I don't think non-OEM sit on much inventory.

Buy boots, wear for 6 months, have leather straps made for watches with boot material.

It all comes down to the leather and construction. I usually am a sucker for OEM straps and I’m really not sure why …. Maybe something akin to putting aftermarket parts on a car. Silly I know.
Anyway, if you want really nice boots, Gabbard makes some of the best for the material and workmanship. https://www.kreosote.com/shop-boots |
