Vintage Eterna 130 PTX

Hey guys. Happy to share an interesting watch I just got and your thoughts would be very welcome.

This is my first vintage diver with gilt tropical dial, and the seller on a local antiques fair was very kind to hold for me for a couple weeks while I researched everything about this model, because to be honest it was the first time I had contact with this reference and I was completely unaware of it's history or relevance, so it took me some time but I finally pulled the trigger and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

I love the way the dial reflects in sunlight with many different shades and when lights are out it goes the opposite way to a ghost effect, but very hard to capture with crappy cellphone pics.

I already made contact with my watchmaker to discuss the approach on this one. I could restore the hands but this idea is out of question for me. I could also find a replacement pair, but even that would affect the originality of this watch in my opinion, so I'll just have the movement serviced and leave everything else untouched with zero polishing and just a quick adjustment on the original bracelet - I'll need to remove a few permanent links to fit my small wrist -, but nothing else other than that.

The 40mm case is really the sweet spot for me, so overall I think I got a winner.

This looks great, Flavio. Interesting numbers on the bezel. I really like Eterna, it's a brand with a long and interesting history, with some significant contributions to horology (not least of all ETA!). Did you know that Gina Lollobrigida appeared in Eterna advertising years ago?
