Interesting yet affordable display caseback

Hello !

With all my watches not having a see-through caseback (appart from the sistem 51 which I find very original), I'm very interested in adding one to the collection with a ~2k€ budget.

To my mind come some of the obvious contenders like Nomos, Baltic MR01 and Seagull.

Any other watches I should consider ?

Cheers

€2k for the case back or the whole watch? I’ve seen aftermarket display case backs for a number of brands - including Rolex.

2K€ for the whole watch.
I am after movements that are worthy looking at, not necessarily super well decorated.

Nomos makes fine watches and is a great place to start looking. Also, you may want to consider Sinn in that price range.

agreed! I feel like Nomos has a beautiful movement with a display back in the Club watch in that price range.

The choices you list are good ones. Seagull is a pleasing-enough chrono movement to look at (most chronos look nice anyway). The microrotor choice is cool too. Great bang for your visual buck with this Chinese-made movements.

For something entering the luxury segment, Nomos is hard to beat. You can get a Tangente for your price range and have a very nice timepiece indeed (with a lovely, in-house movement to enjoy).

Seems like we agree that no one can beat Nomos in that category at this price point then ... I just wish their lug to lug was shorter !

I'll definitely take a second look at Sinn then, I've always liked their designs
