Incoming ! My platinum daydate40 !

This has to be one of the last ones ADs get with the domed bezel ! I LOVE this thing wow — my collection consists of all the typical hot SS models as well as a TT Daytona and a TT rootbeer .. had YG daydate40, but this one here is the true pinnacle! THIS is a heavy hitter (literally) - I’m really lookin forward to enjoying this.. platinum Rolex is something that I always wanted to achieve for a handful of years now ! Very happy with this one !

Also, AD tells me I may be able to get platinum baguette Daytona soon!! so now I’m even more pumped up .. loving the idea of having that thing along side this beauty —Rolex in platinum is just so special

Anyway - this is my first platinum watch! Any tips from seasoned owners? I noticed brand spanking new the bracelet feels like it has more play/stretch right out the box than the 18k President bracelets but I’m guessing that’s just due to the very heavy weight? I keep extremely good care and condition of my watches so I’ve heard platinum scratches extremely easily which shouldn’t even really be an issue for me - but any truth to that?

A couple quick pics !

Ok I’ve seen two people get these from ADs in the last few days. I’m calling my AD tomorrow and taking a shot. I love this version the most and have no interest in the new fluted. First off, CONGRATS!!!!!!!! Epic watch!! I joined that Platinum world two months ago when i got my long awaited Platona baguette dial. The heft really is unreal. The way the watch feels on your wrist is simply addictive! This watch took some getting used to as i was a little scared of it at first. Now.... its truly a daily. And yes, it seems like a scratch magnet!! Mine looks older than watches I’ve had for over a year. The ice blue is just mesmerizing!! Enjoy and cherish it, and again congrats on acquiring one of the best they offer.....

Enjoy. I don’t believe Pt scratches as easy as WG. It’s not as durable as SS, but wear it without worry. It’s a good metal for a watch.

My Ad hasn't seen one either. They have a smooth plat olive though which I've never seen before.

Wow very nice.

My wife’s platinum ring has all kinds of scratches on it, but then again you grab everything with your hand, enjoy it!

Can’t hurt! Who knows maybe it’ll work! Plat/baguette Daytona is my actual original request for a platinum Rolex with this one being a CLOSE second place .. I like the baguette dial for the daydate, BUT personally THIS iteration of the Roman numerals edges the baguette dial out for me. Especially with the hands having only the seconds sweeping hand in the anodized blue.. it’s perfect that way not too much but just enough for alittle tasteful touch.. thanks though looking forward to enjoying no doubt !

I have ONLY seen it for one if the little events to view the new watches for 2022 that one of my ADs had a while back .. but of course that was an example that had no movement! lol

Interesting to see how many of you in the comments like the smooth bezel over the new fluted one! I am a fluted bezel fan actually. I love the current DJ41 with either option, however, for me the fluted always edges out the smooth.? HOWEVER! ..on a platinum daydate, it’s always been known to me as the iconic look to have the domed bezel so idk just something about it .. it just looks RIGHT, doesn’t it ! So, when it comes to this model, even if given the option I would go with smooth to keep the iconic look it’s become so classically associated with !

I think there’s going to be a handful of disappointed folks (well disappointment for some at least) that the domed bezel isn’t even an option anymore (once the fluted ones actually start to come in). It’s too bad they couldn’t just have kept it as is .. oh well! It’ll just make mine that much more special I suppose! Kinda like my hulk having a new style warranty card in a way, surely very few out there
