Green Pouch Giveaway #3 - A Rolex Limerick

We have 3 brand new Genuine Rolex Green Suede Pouches to give away.

A Rolex limerick is a five-line Rolex related poem with a strict form, originally popularized in English by Edward Lear, which intends to be witty or humorous, and is sometimes obscene with humorous intent.

Work on your limerick, it takes a bit of thought, take a break and come back to it if you get stuck.

Conditions of entry:
1. Anyone can enter (except me) and entry is free of charge.
2. Enter as many times as you wish, but the most you can win is one (1) pouch.

This giveaway closes midnight on Sunday next week 25 July 2009.

Judge's decisions are final.

Another in the series of themes "Rolex and ....." giveaways.

Good luck to all and thanks for participating.

EXAMPLES:
There once was a Rolex called Sub
He used to love washing himself in the tub
One day he forgot.....
to screw his crown down
And alas he got screwed in the tube.

There once was a man called Lol-x
He thought he knew all about Rolex
Little did he know
The whole forum knew unto themselves
That old Lol-x was full of just Bollock-x

There once was a man called Gedanken!

Everyone knows he's a bad un

The look on his face

Don't carry no grace

He's known as the smiling assassin!

Very good but remember to be eligible the limerick must have some degree of connection with 'Rolex'.

There once was a WIS known as Lol-x
Well he thought he'd buy just one more Rolex
When his wife she found out
She didn't scream and shout
She just gave him a kick in the Bolex

Our own JJ had a disaster
His hair fell out faster and faster
When it was all gone
He had a bright shiny dome
Like the PCL's on his Yachtmaster

There was a Queen called Bitsy
at times she could get quite tipsy
parading on the dockside
she got all the submariners onside
by dressing up as Britney

Rick was from Dubai
Confused what to buy
Stumbbled upon TRFers action
Little did he knew of his addiction
Till he got three rolexes and wants more
And loves them deeper than his Amore.

He says of the strap
It's just plastic crap
Give me stainless or two tone any day day

Whoops, that one has no Rolex refference in it......sorry

Should not a limerick rhyme in lines 1, 2 & 5 and and rhyme in line 3 & 4? That is what I've learned once upon a time.

He saved up for a Rolex a while
He got an Explorer
Boy does he adore her
For a 14 year old that's plenty of style

There once was a watch fiend named Jocke
Who liked Mr. JJ a lot
They both were quite a pair
Even if neither had much hair
And despite the rumors they don’t play with each others… locks

I got a stainless steel Sub,
I can wear it in the shower and tub.
When it is off my wrist
It really is missed
That is why I'm in this WIS club.

------------------------------------

I really am quite choosy,
My watch choice was a doozy.
I passed on the rest,
and selected the best
That is why I am wearing a Bluesy.

-----------------------------------

People ask, which Rolex is the best?
for people who wants to invest.
Hey, it's not a stock share,
you buy it to wear
It is not meant to be stored in a chest.

-------------------------------------

I am getting a new Rolex today,
How much am I going to pay?
It looks like a deal,
you could call it a steal
Since I am buying it off of Ebay.

-------------------------------------
I here watching the British Open,
the course is weedy and slopin'
They say the winner gets
The Claret Jug and a Rolex
As a winner that's what I would be hopin'.

----------------------------------------------

Is your Rolex is too shiny and clean?
I think you know what I mean
If you are afraid of a scratch
on the bezel or latch
That is why we call you a safe queen.

Sub, Daytona & GMT
Is it greedy to own all three?
And then of course
There's the Milgauss
That completes the collection, for me.

At first it was my vintage Sub
that brought me to this club.
But then I got bored--
And (alas) could afford
Three more to wear to the pub.

A new Rolex always fills me with glee
And I'm about to buy number 3
I've just had the call
So I'm off to the mall
To pick up my new GMT

Within Rolex there's been much debate
About moving the position of the date
I just can't see
That the switch from the three
Makes sense, unless you move it to 8

A Rolex is my boyhood dream
The silver, the balck and the green
It was love at first sight
In my dreams every night
And since aged 9 a fan have I been

A shrewd watch collector a browsing
through the markets and shops had been ferreting
suddenly, into view
Came a Rolex 5512
Which left the others in his collection a wanting
................

for me Tudor subs were the start
of this illness that takes the heart
you all know I don't jest
when I speak with enthused zest
Of my Rolex Sub I will nay part

There was a young man from Liverpool
Who found a gold ring around his tool
So he went to the clinic
And the doctor said cynic
It's only a Rolex you fool
