Signature Watches/Chrono24/Bob's Watches

Hi. I am new to the forum. I have owned a Rolex Air King for about 20 years. Love it. However, it recently stopped working. I am afraid something broke internally. It is genuine. However, the band and diamond bezel are aftermarket. I am told by the local AD that Rolex will not work on it because of the aftermarket band. (I have the original bezel and could put that back on to send for repair.)

Any recommendations for a qualified and reputable repair shop that I can trust to repair my watch? There is no one local.

Also, I would like to buy a used Rolex Date/DateJust. (Self winding only).

I have read good information about Bob's watches. However, they do not have what I am looking for.

I have read some good review about Chrono24. Also, some warnings. I have found a watch that I really like on C24. I keep seeing to do deep research on the actual seller. I am trying.

The seller is Signature Watches, 47 W 47th, NYC. I can't find much about them. Nothing bad. Very little of anything. Is anyone familiar with them at all?

Would truly appreciate advise.

I wouldn’t buy from any of the places you mentioned. Look at the reputable sellers here. There’s a number of guys that will be a very smooth deal

You don't say where in SoCal you are, but, if you're close to San Diego, I recommend D's Time Service in the downtown jewelry district. I have extensive personal experience with Tom and he's a good guy, very upfront, does good work. I know there's also somewhere in LA, but I don't have personal experience with them.

Your local AD is correct - RSC will not work on it with after market parts. I have a 16570 that didn't have an OEM bracelet and they wouldn't service it with the aftermarket leather strap.

As everybody here says, buy the seller, buy the seller, buy the seller. If you're not 150% confident in the seller's repuation and honesty, then be very prepared for the potential of losing money.

If you have the original bezel and you can refit it I think a RSC might work on it with the bracelet removed?

Why don’t you try an AD? The watches you mentioned should not be hard to get

Welcome to the forum!! Don’t have experience with service or sales for the resellers you mentioned so I’ll leave that to those who can give you first hand insight.

I've bought three watches from Bob's. Every single one of them got sent back due to condition being way worse than described/pictured.

For buying another watch, it's better to buy it brand new from ADs near you.

You might need to wait a little while but it shouldn't be that long for a Datejust.

Don't ever pay over retail.

Go in to a Rolex AD, pick out what you want, get your name on the waitlist, then wait for your turn in line to buy

Your AD is not exactly correct,

The bezel~ in the past many AD “upgraded” clients watches with AM jewels on bezel etc, it’s a known thing,

The bracelet, will need to be replaced, a costly trick,

As for where to buy, use the advice given and the list showed here…

Good luck

For repair, LAWW is top of the line and not constrained by the rules which RSC must follow. It's not too far from you either.

I have had good luck with jewelers on time in Newport Beach.
They serviced my 6562 and my 18038. Also they have a good selection of authentic used Rolexes. Honest and excellent knowledge.

Thank you for the feedback!!

Thank you for all of the input and feedback. I am in the Southeast right now and found an amazing jeweler called Geiss Jewelers that services and sells Rolexes. Long history and very reputable. I replaced my diamond bezel with the original and they took my Air King in for service without the bracelet. They had a DateJust that was perfect. I am very pleased so far.
