Happy Fall, y’all!

I hope everyone is doing well and in good spirits! I’ve been thinking about adding a new piece to my collection but wanted to call on the wisdom of the wisemen here at the forum for input and suggestions. Right now I have a 116610 LN and a 126710 BLRO. The way I see it, I’ve got the diver and GMT spots filled for when I go deep sea diving and 747 flying, but what I don’t have is a chronograph for weekends at DEGA!!! Also need a nice dress watch for church to repent for all the hell raisin’ at the race track the previous day.

What do y’all think? Maybe a nice speedy and a moon phase?

Thanks as always,

DM

Sweet collection and between those two you really have the best of the best boxes checked.

There are a couple of Tokyo Olympics edition Speedmasters with the white dial/black subdial panda scheme with red bezel for sale on a few of the pre-owned sites out there. I've always thought the panda look with red accent (4 digit Daytona vibe) are awesome.

If you want to combine the two into one single watch, there's also the Speedmaster moonphase, but I think that one is 45mm. That's including the chrono pushers, though, so real diameter is probably 42 or 43mm.

Great two-piece collection! Chronograph and a dress watch would definitely round things out nicely.

I had a speedy but ultimately let it go because I like being able to submerge watches without hesitation. That said, the aesthetic is classic, legibility is high, and the latest models appear to offer a lot of benefits. Really can't go wrong with a speedy. The new Zenith Chronomaster / Chronomaster Sport seems to be a popular option too but obviously significantly more expensive than a speedy.

I've looked a lot at JLC ultra thins for dress watches. They seem to offer a high level of watchmaking for the price. That said, there's a plethora of solid options in that segment (assuming by dress you mean something on leather?), depending on your desire to have something PM, any complications, etc.

Alternatively, maybe a PM daytona if you want to knock out two birds with one stone -- get a Rolex Land-Sea-Air trio?

Best of luck with the decision!

What about the Omega Speedster Racing aka Tintin? The red and white checkers definitely fits the racing theme.

For chrono would go speedy or Tudor heritage chrono. When I do it a chrono it will probably be the Tudor, which has a date and rotating bezel.

Dress watch, hard to beat a DJ41
