It was about a gay man, right? Was it shocking because of the amount of nudity or specifically male nudity?

I suppose this will be moved, but I'll add - having not seen it - marketing genius. People pay for what they want, so other people make more of it.

I saw the first one, and I had a laugh or two, but I was also seriously disgusted by quite a bit of it!

Cheers,

Ben

I need to see this. We have probably seen the best of it from commercials already, but I think it's probably worth seeing for Sasha Baron Cohen's dedication to character alone! (And the Eminem stunt)

The movie is nothing like what has been advertised. The movie is much more graphic, and could not possibly be advertised correctly without extreme censorship. I thought it was hilarious, but on the same note, have never seen so many people walk out of a movie theater before.

Having not seen the movie, why did people walk out of the movie theater?

Most walked out because of the large amount of male nudity and homosexual situations. It seemed to be the goal of Sacha for this film, to make people as uncomfortable as possible, and it worked extremely well. If you want to enjoy it, either see it by yourself or a friend who you get along with very well. I made the mistake of going with family (dad, brother, and sister), thinking it would be along the lines of Borat... my dad walked out, and my brother and sister braved it out. I again thought it was hilarious, but would have definitely gone with non-family if I could do it again.

It must have been very uncomfortable watching the movie with family! Were there many families at the theaters? It seems like it would have also been awkward if you went with another guy friend. So, what percentage of the audience walked out?

Lots of shock value, I enjoyed it. Some of the jokes and stunts a bit out of bounds, but it made for a good friday night.

The brilliance of the man is how he brings out the prejudices of people to the surface on camera. That's why he spends a lot of the film in the south.

You have it bang on there.

SBC genius lies in the comedy created by the uproar from the situations.

He exposes a dark underbelly of society and then edits it in a way to present it as funny...which most of the time it is.

Just look at the amount of folk who've already posted concerning their issues with male nudity and homosexual imagery. That's what he wants, reactions.

I'd bet my Rolex that half the guys complaining about male nudity wouldn't be moaning if it was gratuitous female nudity. If you think about that, that is where Cohen is coming from.

Okay, Jim - you've convinced me to get it on DVD or Pay Per View when available. Sounds like my kind of movie. The only movie I can remember walking out of was Reservoir Dogs. Violent darkness I don't do very well. Dark humor or general weirdness is intriguing.
