Zucchini flowers

It's that time of year when we can enjoy zucchini flowers. Our neighbour gave us a bag full and other neighbours didn't realise these fellas are delicious. Last night I cooked a bunch in light batter an the missus took half of them them over to the donating friends...... [ I doubt they will be giving them away next year] The rest I used with sweet potato, rosemary and garlic to make a frittata.
Anyone else enjoy these??

If your frying I would use cheese such as Piave, Jarlsberg or a gruyere. sometimes at the restaurant I would use a roasted red pepper coulis in there too but you gotta be vary delicate there.

Had some yesterday at one of my favorite Italian restaurants here in NYC. You're making me hungry!

In Italy, they stuff them with ricotta, and flash fry them in a light breading. You could just about faint!

My wife makes them. She'll bread and fry them lightly. They are one of my favorites If you can get them at a restaurant, they sometimes stuff them with prosciutto and or ricotta and are very expensive. Like 3 for $10

Kelly gets them from the farmer's market and they are a much better deal there

Allan, If you are talking about the zucchini flowers the answer is yes. They are very fleshy. I used a whole wheat/water batter and cooked them in 50/50 canola and EVO. I did sprinkle a little aromatic crushed pepper on top but no salt.... the food police person was watching
Go to your local farmers market to see if they have them.
